Wow! It was soo nice! Today has been the longest day in the world though!!! I had a midterm due today - it was given to us a month ago, but no - I have never changed - I was up till 2AM working on it...it is finished though...it made it even harder to focus at work today - been off 9 days and then go back to work on about 4 hours of sleep!
I got to see my peoples this week...it was a good week...it was long, and short at the same time...long cause I got to do so much...short cause I went almost non-stop so the time kinda flew. Friday night....well really Saturday morning around 4:45 my brother and sis-in-law arrived! Saturday morning alarm went off at 6...actually got up around 7:30...got ready and headed to Funroe...helped friends move...and had a good time...Sunday got up and was able to attend RRBC - it felt like "home" again...granted it helped that our row was full (G&G on one side...R&R on the other...Mom & Dad B behind us...my favorite redhead playing keyboard...her brother Mr. N on the guitar...D on the Drums...I got a little "va-klempt" at one point! I miss those days! Granted my life is great, so I'm happy...but those days were sweet!...Sunday for lunch went to eat with the big group, and My Sister-in-laws parents and grandmother...spent about 2 1/2 hrs at that "restaurant" went to the "new" house, and about 20 minutes later my parents called to find out where we wanted to go to dinner...it felt like we had just eaten...so went to get coffee, and visit, then ate Italian in WM...Aunt P joined us...it was a good visit...then rounded up our stuff...and attempted to head out - it was late when we got back to LR! Whirlwind visit, but a good visit!
Monday we slept in and watched movies...then ran around town some...ate Japanese in NLR, which was yummy, got to see L at dinner, and one of my classmates got to meet part of the group...Tuesday...we went to the place that my wedding pics were taken...then went to eat dinner at a fabulous restaurant...first time for everyone except LJ...it was a carnivorous dream place! It was pricey though - but VERY good (we'd skipped lunch to prepare for it!)...G&G left Wednesday around "early lunch time" 11ish...and I went home and snoozed a bit...kinda bummed around a bit...Thursday got up and registered the boat...that took forever...and then packed for us to go out of town for the "weekend" (Thurs night till Sat lunchtime)...went to Branson...had a good time...just getting away with my sweet wonderful husband...relaxing for a few days before the downward spiral into finals begins...
Last night I had to write my mid-term for my bankruptcy class...got to bed around 2:30AM...and had to get up and go to work...after 9 days off work...and it was day 1 of close - *sigh* it's been a long day!!
So do you feel caught up? You should, cause I think I've covered it all now...I'm sitting in class now...and have about 30 more minutes...
Now I'm outta things to write about *sigh*...you should entertain me now! :-) Ok - I guess I'll just quit here for now, and pay close attention during the last little bit of class..
I'm 37. Married to a wonderful man. Have 2 beautiful children 5 & 1. I stay home and homeschool my oldest, which is by far the best job I've EVER had!

Three days in a row!
Aren't you excited! I am!
I have Spring Fever BAAAD! I'm ready for my week off from school AND work! Can you tell (as I type this in class instead of notes)...We're discussing Value Added Taxes now...it was interesting at first...we were discussing tax evasion, and the theories there. I have so much to do between now and Spring Break though - I want to be able to play the whole week, so have to get lots done in the mean time.
You know - if you people would update your blogs, I could have something to read while I'm in class, and be entertained! So get on that - k? K!
My tooth that I had the root canal done in is STILL bothering me...I'm worried about it. I'm supposed to get the crown next week, and I'm wondering if the crown will make the "hurt" go away...and if it doesn't is he going to pay for the 2nd crown if it requires another root canal...or can they reuse the crown? *sigh* Teeth suck! If it weren't for the fact that my face would look funny (well funnier than usual), I think I'd have them all pulled out of my head...then no hurt...no crooked ones...no yellow ones (no matter how much I brush)...*sigh* Some day I"ll be able to get my teeth to all look pretty...bleach them...braces...granted I'm hoping the "hurt" factor will go away quickly!
Blue box...I saw a car on my way into work that reminded me of the blue box my favorite red head used to drive. It made me smile! Isn't it funny how something we see, smell, or hear brings us back to a different time in our lives...I was reminded of the first several years of college...
I don't remember if I mentioned it on here before that my friend's brother was ill...well he passed away today. I so wish I could be there to give her a hug. I feel so sad for their loss, even though I never met him. At the same time, I'm kinda excited for him. I can't wait to meet him in heaven! He's perfectly healthy there now, and all of his disabilities from earth are gone!
I'm excited for the same friend in another matter - they closed on their house today!!! YAY!!! It's not that I'm excited that they closed on a house...it's that I"m excited the stress they've been under is gone. It's so weird...when one member/family of the commune is feeling something, it's like we all feel it to a degree. When each has bought their house, we've been excited them...when there's been health concerns of family members, we've been sad with them...when tests come back positive when hope was dwindling, we've been relieved with them...it's weird how the Lord has brought us all so close together. It seems that the closeness of us is unusual...especially considering we're not "childhood friends"...most of us met post high-school (except those who are actually related).
The professor just mentioned "massage"...(in a different context)...I could REALLY use a massage!!! The last professional one I had was awesome! Hey Sister-In-Law - lets do that when you come visit?!? Not that my sweet wonderful husband won't rub my shoulders...but he gets tired of doing it before all the kinks are worked out!
Ok - I've run out of things to talk about...*sigh*...and class isn't half over...let me see if I can find something else to do...y'all aren't talkin back (I know...I know...you aren't online...no excuses!)

Anyone...anyone...anyone...
Ok - this is too painful...2 weeks in a row...think "Beuler...Beuler...Beuler...." and "anyone....anyone....anyone..." that's the professor/attorney I'm listening! SNORE! So now you get my attention...I've gotten bored with games... I worry a little about this test, because it's so hard to listen to him drone on and on, but it's a take home, and what I've read in the book, it spells it all out pretty well... We'll see! ;-)
I thought about blogging during the day today...and as things would happen, the thought would cross my mind that I can tell y'all tonight...but now that I'm typing on here...nothing comes to mind...isn't that just typical!
Well...plans for the weekend...clean the house...cause the next weekend we'll be having company!!! YAY!! I'm very excited! And I have to get some homework things taken care of...a few things due right before spring break, and a few things due right after Spring Break...since I"ll have company during Spring break - I really need to get it all taken care of before...so...this weekend will be tons of fun...NOT! but that's ok - cause the next weekend will make up for it. And then the next full week is Spring break, and I'll be off from work! Woo Hoo! 9 FULL DAYS OFF FROM SCHOOL AND WORK - how great is that!!!! Gotta focus until then!
Work is crazy! As we prepare for the actual split of the company...we're trying to get to the point that the month of April we're functioning as 2 departments (in my department), so we're having to do tons of things to get to that point...on top of the daily functions that are normal...With the split we're also having to learn the job functions of other people in our department who are going the one direction, but had job functions in the other direction. And we have to get desk procedures written...*sigh*...It's soo crazy!
...anyone...anyone....anyone....? AHHHH!
Friends are hopefully closing on their house tomorrow...that makes 3 families who have decided to "grow up" (sorta) in our group! It's kinda weird! I've joked with him (M) that now that they'll have a class, he'll finally get the job he's been wanting with the company I work for! LOL! wouldn't that be par for the course!
Some friends just had their twins this past weekend...they are so precious (from pictures)...I can't wait to meet them! I have another friend that's due in about 4 weeks or so...on top of 2 friends who had babies last year...our Sunday School teacher had a baby in February (well - his wife did) lots of little people around...they are so much fun! :-)
I think he's about to let us go...so I'm gonna quit for now...that's good though...cause this ramble was going nowhere...
to be continued...(maybe tomorrow night?...)

New plants
The last few weekends my sweet wonderful husband and I have been purchasing plants to spruce up the yard...I've been all about what's pretty, and what's different, 2 of the
ones below are my choices...
This one is called "Angel's Trumpet" It just looked cool. It's planted in the front corner of the back-yard (we were told it would grow to be as big as me - that's pretty big!)

This is Periwinkle...or Thrift...it's a ground cover for under the tree in the front yard (will go around Azalia's)

This is my Camellia - it's pink - and pretty. It's planted beside the deck.
We also got 2 white rose bushes, and a red rose bush - but those don't have flowers yet, so I haven't taken their picture yet...
Oh and so far have 2 Azalia plants...going to get several more, but we have to do it as we have time to plant them!
And we've planted a hanging basket of strawberries that have started sprouting and a few things from seeds and bulbs, so we'll have to see if they'll sprout...
It's so pretty, and fun...maybe I'll quit school and be a gardner - My sweet wonderful husband and I could start a flower nursery?!?
Just kidding - ok - back to paying attention in class - just wanted to show the plants...

a week later...
and here I sit...in the same class...paying as close attention as I did last week...don't freak out though - I'm listening...it's just kinda boring, but I find if I write here, I absorb more than I do if I'm playing a game.
Only problem is...I don't have much to say...so this will be more of a ramble potentially...but if you know me - you're used to that...if you don't, then I'm sure you know someone who rambles...the world is only so big! :-)
Tonight's topic is about tax breaks for the elderly, and if the age should be raised, lowered, or left alone and the benefits and consequences of each.
Good news on my friend's mom...she had a scan (don't remember which kind), and the tumor hasn't started growing back yet...YAY!...that was a concern since it took 2 months to grow back the first time...she's decided to resume treatments! Keep her in your prayers!
I have some friends closing on a house next week - they've helped me move MANY times so we'll get to return that favor in the near future...what fun...LOL...
*Sigh*...we've moved on to Value Added Tax...blah!
During class I talk to whoever is online that I know...generally only one friend is online, cause she works at night at a computer...she's having Chinese for dinner...now I want Chinese...didn't before she brought it up...thanks!
It's funny how we get into habits...when I'm typing anything...both number and text documents...I hit Ctrl S periodically in order to keep from losing stuff...my computer at work has trained me to do this, since it likes to crash or lock up on me...I keep trying to do it in this screen, and there's nothing to save...it's not a file to save to disk...I amuse myself...
Ya know - I could type my notes into this screen...then you could get an idea of what I'm listening to...how boring would that be for you! LOL...granted my luck if I were to do that, when I wanted to pull up notes to study for finals the website would be down...
There's a chance we'll be going to Monroe this weekend...jury's still out on that...depends on many factors...it would be fun to just get out of town for a few days...and we could possibly get the extra couch outta the living room (if I can ever talk to "little bit" about something)...if she'd ever be online...granted the hubby has to get his paper finished this week too, cause if we go out of town, he won't feel like working on it Sunday evening when we get back, and it's due in final copy Monday night...and of course there's things around the house that we really should do...not to mention several projects to do (some wants, some needs)...if only it were Summer already...*sigh*
It's hard to believe that we've passed the mid point of the semester though!! Granted I'm eagerly waiting for Spring Break!!! Only 2 1/2 weeks!!!!!!!!! I think I'm gonna take time off work that week too...with class every night of the week, it's not beneficial to take time off work, cause I still have to come to town to go to class...
Break time - miss me...
Didja miss me? LOL
We've got about 35 minutes of class left...I'm ready to go home now though! *whine*
Ok - well I'm tired of typing this - time to work on sleeping with my eyes open...while typing in my sleep...so I look like I'm paying attention to the prof...I'll letcha know how it goes! ;-)

Ramblings from the inner workings of my mind...
Ok - so I haven't posted in a little bit, but that's ok - I have a busy life. I wish I just had time to sit and blog about life...granted that would be a blog about blogging, and that would get boring...I'm just going to type what's on my mind...so good luck keeping up with me...
Right now I'm sitting in tax policy where we're discussing the philosophy of our tax system, and if it's fair, and how to make it more fair etc...it's all theoretical, so it's kinda a struggle for me...it's interesting though...
I find it so funny how Arkansans find Louisiana "traditions" etc...things I find normal...they find so neat and interesting etc. For example - I borought a king cake to work yesterday...I don't celebrate Mardi Gras, but my WHOLE life we've had king cake for mardi gras...since I'm in Arkansas these days, I have to keep in contact with my LA people to know when Mardi Gras is, and make sure I get a king cake, and expose my work people to Louisiana life... They were all in awe at the king cake, and very excited to try it...after they tried it they were very impressed...to me it's neat to see it through their eyes...cause it's basically a cinnamon role not cut up with icing and colored sugar. They all read the card that had the history and traditions...one even made a copy of the little card with that information on it....
I've learned I have a problem...I judge people based on what I see...something I need to correct. I saw someone when I was walking into work today that made me laugh almost out loud...he was about 7 feet tall...was wearing a shirt that might have been cool back in the 80's...and was wearing pants that fit his waist, but were about 6 inches too short...and black shoes - think nursing shoes...and had hair...how do I describe the hair...think my hair...crossed with my brother's wife's hair...about 6 inches long...blow dried... He walked about 10 yards in front of me all the way from the back 40 through the parking lot to the building...I mentally made fun of him the whole way...when we got to the building...he stood at the door and waited for me to get to the door, let me go in front of him, spoke politely, and even got the 2nd door...rode up on the elevator and he was super nice...I can't describe the "innocent nice" in a way that gets my point across so you just have to use your imagination...
Today when I got to school I went up to my class...sat through th first class...went to my second class...and before it started decided to go down to the 2nd floor to get something to drink, and possibly a snack...decided I should use the facilities before I went to class too, so stopped in there first - figuring the bathroom is not the sanitariest place to set down snack food and beverages while in disposed...when I walk in there's a girl in there alone...standing at the mirror drinking her pink lemonade...it was like she was sitting on the couch at home watching a movie and enjoying a beverage...thought that was weird...
I'm getting to visit with a friends parents tomorrow...I'm kinda looking forward to it...granted I'm a little worried the age difference/stage in life difference might be awkward...his dad has a job interview at the company I work for, and mom is coming up with him to see Little Rock, to try to help her get comfortable with the idea of possibly moving here. She might visit with me while he's in the interview, if she doesn't feel comfortable exploring LR alone...I only wish it were say next week...cause the first 4 business days of the month are the busiest for me. It'll all be good though...I'm praying that the dad can find a job that will be awesome and that will result in everyone saying - That was God! I've been there before...and the friend who's dad it is has too...while it can be tough going through it - it's awesome when it all falls together!
Why is it when people have a problem with someone...if it's someone they are close to...they avoid discussing it...and it becomes a bigger problem because everyone pretends there is no problem...shouldn't the friends you're the closest to be the ones you can talk to the easiest...oh the paradox...
A funny thought - the guy sitting next to me in this class works for a soda company who's main product is red...and I'm sitting here drinking a soda from a company who's main product is blue...(mainly cause that's all the school has...I prefer the red product)...I just find it funny...
so...were you able to keep up...this is just a glimpse inside what goes on in my mind....all this while discussing the theory of married filing jointly versus single and the marriage penalty and solutions, and problems with those solutions....how fun!
Granted typing this has kept me entertained through class...and we get out in 30 minutes...you have made the time go by much faster...thank you! LOL!

LOL!

It's been almost a year...
From an "Inspirational e-mail I got today...
"There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!"
Ever so true! I want to hug her...talk to her..be able to ask her questions...see her smile...hear her laugh...see the twinkle of mischief in her eyes...*sigh*...

Hope everyone has a loverly Valentine's Day!
I'll be spending most of mine at work...then school...it's a special day! LOL...We are going to go out to eat right before my class though, since it doesn't start till late.
Well - better get back to work - they don't buy the "it's my Birthday, so I shouldn't have to work, but you should still pay me" line. *sigh*

*yawn*
Well - I'm taking a few minutes to ramble....I don't have anything new going on in my world right now, so this might not be all that interesting...but hey...it doesn't have to be interesting does it...I never promised that! LOL Ya know - I got to looking and Next Friday will be 1 year since I started this thing! WOW! I didn't figure I'd keep up with it that long...I went back and was reading a few of my earlier posts, and was amused...I didn't read too many cause I figure if I'm wasting time reading...I could waste time rambling, and keep the fans happy! ;-)
Well...I got got my grades back for the Fall semester...got them like last week sometime...but haven't posted since then...it was my best semester so far...I got a C+ in Cyber law...I think I earned better than that, but oh well...it was under a weird professor (the associate dean's son), and he assigned ridiculous amounts of reading for a 2 hr class...50-80 pages...my 4 hr class only assigned 40 pages a week...sheesh! Oh well...I passed, and got my writing credit! Federal income tax I got a B- and Business Associations I got a B...so my GPA for the semester is a 3.0...WOO HOO! Here's hoping for another semester like that one! This semester I'm taking Lawyering Skills 2 (practicing going to trial), Tax Fraud, Tax Policy, Estate Planning, and Bankruptcy Chapters 11 & 13. All my professors seem really good...Estate Planning seems like it's going to be rather boring...subject matter is very interesting...but it's 3 lawyers teaching the class...and they just drone on and on...but I'll manage!
I've gotten into Sudoku puzzles lately...they are fun...kind of a numbers logic type puzzle...look it up...it's fun! My daily calendar is of those (a new one each day)...and some of the ladies up here at work get the one out of the paper and copy it...so I get that one too...and occasionally I'll pull up one online and do it...but that's at home or school between classes (work has that sort of thing blocked as "games")...
We've got a girl up here that's been out since last Thursday, and is still out...they are suspecting a stroke...did an MRI yesterday...but we're still waiting...she's having double vision and vertigo are the 2 symptoms I've heard...pray for her if ya think about her...
I haven't heard any update on my friends mom with the brain tumor...so I'm hoping no news is good news!
It seems my posts are rather long when I have nothing important to say...LOL!
I think I need to take some pictures and update photos on here...
Ok - well I better get back to work for now...I might post more later if I can think of anything significant to write...(while I was writing one of the paragraphs I thought of something else, and before I finished I forgot it, so whatever it was if it was important I'll add it back later!)...
Ta ta for now!

*sigh*
Apparently 4 weeks off from school equals 4 weeks off from blogging! LOL! and I've heard about it plenty...people think I have nothing better to do than write on here...if only that were really the case! LOL
Well - school starts back next week...I've got mixed emotions about it - I do enjoy school, and am glad I'm able to attend, but I enjoy coming home in the evenings with nothing that I HAVE to do! I'm taking 5 classes this semester...and go 5 nights a week...that's gonna suck! But if I don't do it this semester, I won't be able to take the summer off, and/or won't get to graduate next May! WOW - right now it seems like it's not that far off...granted by March it'll feel like it's FOREVER away, but that's just the stress factor! I guess I should start seriously thinking about what I'm gonna be when I grow up...like what part of law I want to practice in and such...*sigh* being grown up is stressful! Tell all your yayhoo's to enjoy the "kid" life, and don't try to rush it too much! I can say that the break has felt longer than it is because I've made it a point to enjoy each day individually, and not rush the weeks...(like I'm not thinking "oh I wish it were the weekend" - I'm enjoying it's Thursday and I don't have class, I can spend the evening with my sweet wonderful husband!).
Well that was a long ramble paragraph about school - wasn't that fun! LOL
Ok - what all has happened since my last post...let's see...Christmas...and New Years...my sweet wonderful husband's b'day...I think that's it in the big picture...
Christmas was good - it felt so rushed trying to see everyone, but it was worth it...both sets of parents gave money! It worked out great...we ended up using the actual cash that they gave us to keep from putting our visit on the credit card...it wasn't what we had hoped to spend it on, but it was the responsible thing to do! Like I said earlier - being grown up stinks!
(This post is taking forever to write cause I'm typing it as I find a few minutes)
My sweetie and I rang in the New Year with 2 couples from church...we visited and played games and such till the New Year dawned...it was fun!
I worked my fanny off the first week of this year...worked 47 hours (at was off Monday)...sheesh!...15 hrs overtime, without pay...gotta love being salaried! I was afraid I wasn't going to get to go home at a reasonable time on my sweet wonderful husband's birthday, and was getting upset, but fortunately I got off by 6, so we were able to go out to eat.
That gets us through most of last week...This week has been rather uneventful, which is a good thing...I was kinda sick the first part of the week - basic sinus crud...but I'm better now...I just keep having these coughing fits where I sound like I'm trying to cough up one of my lungs...my co-workers swear that I shouldn't have lungs left! :-)
Oh - with the WLS/WLN split with the company I work for...I'll be going WLS, so no big change for me...my management will be changing up some, but that's not a big deal.
Oh got news this week that my friend's mom who had the brain tumor that they operated on to remove...is not doing well...the tumor is growing back, and she's very week from the Chemo and Radiation. Pray for the mom...and the family...while only God knows...there is a fear that she might not make it "much" longer...(I've heard either a year or at least a year...which are 2 very different things)...granted like I said - God's in control of it all...the Lord could come back and she get raptured out like the rest of us! How great would that be! Ok - anyway - pray for them, cause it's still tough to watch someone you love battle cancer...and it's tough for her battling the cancer!
Ok - I think I'm caught up for now...we'll see...This has taken me too long to write, so it's as caught up as I'm gonna be for today anyway!

A week for accomplishments!
Well - I'm DONNNNNNEEEEEE!! hehehe Turned in my last assignment Friday at 6:30PM. Woo hoo! Went this weekend and got my hair done...have gotten many complements on it - apparently my hair looked like crap before for so many people to notice! LOL! I think it's just cause it is different! I really like it! I found someone who wasn't afraid to cut my hair...everyone I've gone to in the past has been afraid to cut naturally curly hair..."cause you never know what it's gonna do"...well I'll never know if you don't get to chopping! LOL. I went to Texarkana with a friend from school, and got it done where she's gotten her hair done in the past, when she lived there (she was picking up her son from her ex's). Saturday night we (my sweet wonderful husband and I) went to a Sunday School Christmas party - it was fun! We got to know some of the other couples in our class better. There was one couple that I didn't even know their names...they started coming while we weren't as faithful, and then it's just awkward to introduce yourselves...but I did as soon as they came in at the party. We did "dirty santa" with ornaments...we got a pretty ball that has an old fashioned Santa (with toys in the toy shop) on it and 2005 in glitter on the back. We borought a Pillsbury Dough boy...we were the only "fun" ornament...everyone else borought "pretty" ornaments. The couple that got the one we brought LOVED it though, so that was cool! (it was the couple that I didn't know their names when they walked in - so it was kinda funny). Last night we called the girl I went to Texarkana with, and met for dinner (I had a gift card to use), and then she and I went Christmas shopping, and my sweet wonderful husband went to Academy Sports...he was happy, and we both got all of our shopping finished! WOO HOO! I've gotta wrap gifts tonight, and need to get a box of cards or something to give with my Rattlesnake eggs...my gift to my co-workers. I have a PILE of laundry that needs to be washed...*sigh* this catching up after school lets out can be exhausting! My goal is to have Christmas done (which it is all but the wrapping), and the house clean by Christmas morning...that one's going to be a challenge...cause I'm wanting it clean like no more boxes clean! We'll see how close I get! I've rambled on all in one paragraph - that's pretty funny. Wonder how hard it's going to be to read! LOL! This Wednesday is supposed to be a Candle light Christmas service at church...that should be pretty - I'm looking forward to that. Then Friday night is Christmas with the in-laws. Saturday my hubby and I are going to kill mean vicious rodents with tails! (aka squirrels). Sunday our church is having full services...I think we're going to miss all of 'em...well we might go to Sunday school, since our friend is teaching (the teacher is going to be outta town). Then it's lunch at our realtors...LOL...if ya didn't know she was his aunt, it sounds like we got her tons of money on a house, and now she's inviting us over for Christmas! LOL! Anyway...lunch with the in-laws at the aunts house...then drive 5 hours to have dinner with my family, and do Christmas with them. Then Monday afternoon (around 3ish) off to Monroe to see the friends, and attempt to help spoil their munchkins with more presents, and just spend time with them. Tuesday morning it's back home to recuperate from the weeks activities, and get ready for work on Wednesday! *sigh* I'm tired just thinking about it all! LOL!
Well - better get to work, so I can keep my job, and afford all these activities! LOL
Ta-ta for now!

Official Resignation
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year-old again.
I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make a sidewalk with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.
I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple. When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.
I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.
I want to live simple again.
I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.
I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.
So, here's my checkbook and my car-keys, my credit card bills and my 401K statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, cause... "Tag! You're it."

Lot's going on...prayer needed...and life's happenings...
Well it's only been a week this time between posts...aren't you proud? ;-)
The weekend was good...got to go to Monroe, and see all my Monroe peoples! Went to lunch with some of them, then went to the shower. The shower was good...the mama to be got all sorts of pretty things for her little princess. Now I can't wait to meet her little princess...only 3ish more weeks! YAY! I'm not sure when I'll get to meet her exactly (partly cause we don't know exactly when she's going to make her appearance, and partly cause she's due right in the middle of finals time! The girl friends stayed and visited after the family left, so we were at the shower for like 2 1/2 hours or so, but it was a lot of fun. And I got to play with another little princess who's about 2 months old (my favorite red head's baby). After the shower we went to eat...(basically a day of eating and sitting and talking for the LR people). We had bar-b-q. It was yummy...I wasn't all that hungry though, so it wasn't as good as it is when you really want bar-b-q AND you're hungry. The fellowship was fun though...that's where we were ALL together except the 2 LR males. The kids were loud, but in great moods, and playing well together. I'm sure the management was glad to see us leave...we took up THREE long tables, and it was pretty much full. Then 3 more hours back home. Got home around 10:45ish...so not too bad!
Tuesday my favorite red head came to town to see a doctor about her 3 year old. They decided to take out his tonsels and adnoids, and if I remember correctly, some scar tissue from around his treach/trake (I kept avoiding that word cause I'm not sure how to spell it, but that's my best guess), so they'll be back up either Sunday night or Monday morning for that (while I wish it were for just a visit, I'm glad I'll get to see them again so soon!). While I know it's a surgery done all the time on kids...pray that it goes well for him. I'm pretty sure my favorite red head thinks I'm just glad cause I get to see her little princess, but that's really not the case (granted I will definitely get my loving time in with her), I enjoy visiting with the whole family!!!
Wednesday I got notice that one of my friends, who's mom lives close to LR, got a call from his mom saying something wasn't right, and there was concern of a stroke, heart attack, pinched nerve...she lost feeling in her left side...lots of wondering until they (a cousin) could get her to a hospital and get some tests run...they determined it was 2 tumors on her brain...please PRAY FOR HER!!! They are going to do a biopsy, hopefully today, but might not be till Monday or Tuesday, so everyone's stuck wondering. The doctors said worst case...they do nothing and she's got about 7-12 weeks....best case, they remove it and life goes on great...might need Chemo or radiation or something...but until they do the biopsy, no one knows. They will be coming up this weekend, but I'm not sure how much I'll get to visit with them...I've offered my services though, if they need a sitter for the boys or a place to crash or a listening ear or whatever!
This past Sunday's sermon was good again...all of Bro. P's sermons are good...I just haven't been listening with my heart lately, I've been listening with my ears only. I don't remember the exact verses preached from, but it's in the gospels (mainly John), so you can find it if you wanna look it up. The main idea was that we were all in the crowd the day Jesus was Crucified...and he talked about the 3 groups of people in the crowd that day. Group 1 - Those at enmity with Jesus(basically the lost pictured by the crowd yelling for Jesus to be Crucified), group 2 - Those that wanted to escape from Jesus(basically people who just don't want to deal with who Jesus is, pictured by Pilate (sp?)) , group 3 - Those who were exchanged for Jesus (the saved, the ones who deserve the punishment that Jesus took on the cross that He took for us, of course pictured by Barabas). At the end he invited those in group one to join group 3 by accepting Jesus, those in group 2 to deal with Jesus and join group 3, and those in group 3 to be remember what Jesus did, and live like it. At the end he told the story I'm sure everyone's seen in e-mails about the guy that lowers the bridge for the trains and raises it for the boats...he brings his son to work with him, and when the train comes, his son is stuck where the bridge needs to be lowered....there's like 250 people on the train, and he has to choose between them and the single life of his son...He throws the switch and watches his son's death, and watches the train go by and sees all the people talking and still living life, and he's in aguish wanting them to realize that HIS son paid the ultimate price so they could live. And now God is saying won't you realize that HIS son paid the ultimate price so we can live. I'd heard the story before, and even with the comparison of God, but it touched me in a special way Sunday...it was all I could do to keep from sobbing! WOW! I wish typing the words you could hear them like I hear them in my head (how Bro P. preached them)...Made me leave wanting to proclaim with my life that was "exchanged for Jesus"...and that God's son didn't die in vain, I knew He'd paid the price for me! I challenge you - which group are you in? If you aren't in group 3, please do what it takes to be in that group...if you are in group 3, please live a life that will show it to others, so they'll want to know your savior too.
Ok - well I need to finish up, so I can go to class.
Those I'll see this weekend - wish it were better circumstances, but I'm glad I'll get to see you, those I won't, I'll be missing you, but I'll see you soon! (unless you're reading and I don't know you, then I probably won't until we get to Heaven - if you're in group 3)

(unless you're reading and I don't know you, then I probably won't until we get to Heaven - if you're in group 3)

every other week it is...
So, it seems that I can't get this updated more than every other week...*sigh*...I've been wanting to...have had things to say, just no time to say them! I'm loving the new job still...which is a good thing! :-) LOL I stay busy...that's one of the reasons this hasn't been updated in a while. I'm at lunch right now, is how I'm able to do it, and I really should be getting ready for class tonight during this time, but I've got a terrible headache, so that's not gonna happen!
Going to be in Monroe on Saturday...I'm kinda looking forward to that...we're only going to be there for a day, so there's a limited amount of time to do what I want to do! I've got homework to do this weekend, so we can't stay all weekend...I'm going to use Sunday to get homework done. There's 3 of us gals riding down together, so that should be fun, and of course the baby shower will be fun - how can it not be fun looking at cute baby things for a little girl!? I have a cousin's bridal shower that's this weekend also, but I'm gonna have to pass on that...will get a gift, and send it, but I've just got too much to do for school (finals are in a month!!!!) to stay for the whole weekend, and go to both!
This past weekend I finished unpacking my kitchen!! YAY! Actually that's not 100% true, cause I have one more box to unpack, but I can't do it right now, because we haven't bought the cabinet we're gonna put it in, for me to put it in. LOL! My sweet wonderful husband went hunting...he was happy...made for a quiet house, which was nice for a while, but by the time he got home I was ready for him to be home - I missed him! :-) He didn't kill anything but time...he did see a couple though...took a shot at one of them, but overshot it (he was bow hunting, and has 2 green sites, and he used the wrong one).
Church Sunday was great...Bro. P preached on revival...used the standard revival verse..."If my people which are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, and heal their lands." (typed from memory, so if it's not exact, sorry). He preached it a little different from what I'd heard in the past, and the Lord convicted me heavily! He started with a comment about how the church is growing etc, but that we still needed revival...he said if you'd ever been closer to the Lord than you are right now...then you needed revival. Conviction started there, and we were only 2 sentences into the message! WOW! His "spin" on that verse was to tell us of 4 things that PREVENT revival. They were 1. Pride (acting like you don't need God...and he focused on your actions, not so much having the thought that "I don't need God," but having actions that say "I don't need God" - ouch), 2. Prayerlessness (he called this the 1st cousin to Pride cause it's the Pride that leads us to stop praying to God, seeking His help, cause we can handle it on our own...granted when things get tough, we call on Him again, but as soon as it gets better, He's put on the back burner again - OUCH!), 3. Priorities (this one he talked about our actions again...he said you might think God's your priority, but check and see where you spend you time, money, thoughts, etc and that's actually what your priority is - OUCH!) , and 4. Presumption (this one he talked about how we tend to say "well I know I'm saved, and God's gonna forgive me anyway, so let me go ahead and do whatever. - at first I didn't think I did this one that much, but as I've thought on this all week (obviously if I'm typing Friday about Sunday's message it's been on my mind), I've realized I do this one too). So needless to say - Sunday helped me a LOT, I definitely left church different than how I arrived (something it's sad to say hasn't happened in a LONG time!). I've realized I've let something happen that I was afraid of, but instead of guarding against it, I've let it happen...that's letting school (which has to take up a lot of my time, just in its nature), come between me and my Savior...and I've missed out on that perfect fellowship! I challenge you to think on these 4 points, and see if there's something in your life that's come between you and your Savior, and if you don't have a Savior, then I challenge you to fix that part today, before it's too late...the time is drawing near!
ok - well - lunch is over, so I better get back to work...let me know your thoughts on this posting (that's what the comment section is for! ;-) ) Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

busy weeks...
I know it's been a WHILE since I posted, but life has been sooo hectic lately!...let's see...what all has happened....
The Monday after my last post I got a job offer for a promotion within my company. It comes from a different department, which I'm glad for, I was ready for a change! And as "promotion" gives away...it's got a new title (I'm a 2 instead of a 1), and a nice pay raise. YAY! I started the new job yesterday. I think I'm really going to like it! Granted part of the "like it" right now, is because it's "new."
So the 2 weeks after that I spent very busily wrapping up everything outstanding in the Cash department, so I could move to Property. So while I used to have extra time at work that I could write a blog entry, I've been too busy these past 2 weeks to stop and write.
The marriage retreat was GREAT! I wish all the married couple's I know could have gone! Maybe next year, the couples that did go, and us, can convince the others to go, cause it was fun! It was also very informative. Like I said on my comments at the end...I went into the retreat thinking my marriage was GREAT (cause I have a WONDERFUL husband), but I learned some things that we can do to make it better. Anway - if you can go next year (it's the same weekend next year), it's worth it.
This past weekend I was working on a paper...my Computer Law class is a "writing" class...the final paper has to be 20-30 pages...I thought I had more of the research done than I really did, so Saturday only got 2 1/2 pages written (after doing research all day). Spent Sunday afternoon writing and then Sunday night writing...worked till 1AMish...and crashed...had about 12 pages done.
My sweet wonderful husband had to do another sleep study Sunday night...and I turned into a big chicken! The house makes lots of noises, and when you're there alone it was creepy! I told a friend "if the boogy man attacked me, no one would know"...in an apartment neighbors are VERY close, and hear EVERYTHING. I know - I'm a big weenie! So I called a girlfriend to come over and stay when she got off work. I felt better just knowing someone else was in the house...
Tonight I'm sitting in class...been a busy week so far...I'm never at my desk at work cause I'm learning from other people at their desks...btw, for those who are looking for me on AIM, you won't find me. I'm trying to abide by the rules (for now)...and not install it on the new (to me) computer at work, so if you want to talk to me - e-mail me, and we can chat that way (when I'm at my desk). Granted eventually I'll be at my desk more...
Ok - better start paying attention again in class...well...paying closer attention...
Ta-ta for now...

wow it's been 2 weeks!
AHHH - TWO WHOLE WEEKS!!!LOL - ok - silly picture so you know I'm alive...and see - I have gum in my mouth!
I know my biggest fans are probably dying without my inspiring ramblings of the happenings in my life! LOL! It's hard to believe it's been 2 weeks - time flies when your busy! I know that's not how the saying goes, but it's still true!
I have company coming tonight...my favorite red head and her family are coming up. Her 3-year-old has a Dr's appointment at Children's Hospital up here tomorrow, so they are coming up tonight for that. I'm excited...I get time to love on her new baby, and play some with the 3-year-old...and visit with mommy and daddy too! :-) It's neat how it worked out, their appointment happens to put them coming up the one night out of the week that I don' t have class! YAY! Also, fortunately, my 2nd class last night was canceled, so I was able to get some of my homework for tomorrow done last night, so I'll be able to visit more tonight! YAY!
This weekend, I get to go to Funroe...I'm excited...while it's for work...helping a friend move...it's still with my friends, so it'll be fun! It'll also be more fun than our move, cause I'm not in charge...I don't have to worry about being asked 100 times where to put what, or what to move next...I'm just a worker bee!
School has been going pretty well...nothing exciting to say about it though, so I won't ramble about that too much...
One of my friends has started seeing a new fella...and I got to meet him this past weekend...he seems like a really nice guy...so far as ya can tell from dinner and a round of putt putt! Their personalities seem to match better than anyone I've known her to date. Granted I refuse to give my final stamp of approval on the first meeting...by the 3rd time I've been around him I'll be able to say for sure I think...Granted with all that's going on...that could be a while before we get that many encounters!
Next weekend is the marriage retreat that the family pastor from my church in Monroe, and his wife put on. We're going to it, as are a couple of couples that are good friends of our, so we're looking forward to that...granted my sweet wonderful husband has grumbled just a little cause it's opening weekend of muzzle-loading season...He'll survive though. He said it's not as bad as it could be cause he'd really rather shoot a deer with a bow this season, if he can. This past weekend he went bow hunting, and saw one little Bambi...he said he's seen dogs bigger than this deer, so he didn't shoot it, and the mama never came out (it looked young enough for mama to be close by).
Well it IS day 3 of close, so I better get back to work...got several things to do still, and I'm hoping to get outta here on time tonight, since I do have company coming! But hey - they are bringing in lunch - YUMMY - for some reason free lunch always tastes better than something I cooked, or bought! LOL!
Ta-ta for now!
I'll try to get back here before 2 weeks pass! LOL!

human again!
Well I finally feel human again! It's rather nice!!! I've had 5 migrains in 5 days...I was about ready to take drastic measures to make them stop!!! Went to the Dr Tuesday morning, and the ER Tuesday night, and got shots both times...it burned BAD when they were giving me the shot (Stadol), but it knocked me out, and I didn't care for too long! The one from the ER was a double dose, plus phenegrin, and I was still loopy last evening some. WOW... I'm just praying that I continue to feel good! I don't have time to be "sick!" I wish I knew what the trigger was for this series, as I've never had them this bad, and would prefer for it to never happen this bad again! One of my co-workers probably hit the nail on the head, she said it could be from the stress finally slacking of some? Since things had been SOO hectic the last few weeks. When I think back to High School when I'd get them from stress...it was usually AFTER finals, not during finals, so that makes sense...Will have to consider that theory more!
We got the new carpet in Monday...it's so pretty! Granted it makes the offwhite carpet in the master bedroom (which used to look nice), look BROWN! So we'll probably get that changed in the relatively near future (maybe by next summer - who knows - depends on moula!). We had to take EVERYTHING out of the living room for them to be able to put the carpet in, and Monday night my sweet wonderful husband put JUST the furniture back in there, so it looks really nice in there! It's starting to feel like home. (which is good, since it is! LOL).
I'm going to have lots of reading to do this weekend, to catch up from this past week that I haven't been able to get anything done. It's hard to read when ya can't see! Oh well, can't change the past, and just means I"ll have loads of fun this weekend (can you feel the sarcasms?). Next weekend my sweet wonderful husband is planning to go try to kill poor defenseless animals...what fun for him?....Then the next weekend we get to help some friends move who were displaced by Katrina (sorta)...then the next weekend we're going to the marriage retreat that the family pastor & his wife from my old church put on...then I think that's all for now...granted if at all possible the next weekend my husband will be attempting to kill defenseless animals again!
Granted by the time all that's over with - it'll be getting close to Thanksgiving it seems...my how the time flies! To make it seem like time's flying faster...after this semester of school - I only have THREE semesters left - WOW!!! Ok....freaked out enough, better get back to work...

for my fan club....
Since I apparently have fans that life stops for when I don't write, I figure I better get something posted, so they can move on in their lives! LOL! Actually life's been rather hectic around my little world, so I just plain haven't had the time to post. Most days I have things I would like to blog about, but when you don't have internet at home, don't need to use the internet at school, and are extremely busy with work to use the internet at work...it makes it kinda challenging to post!
I finally finished my July recons...they had to be in by today at the latest, and I just turned in the last one (that I can do), so life is good again! :-) I have 2 that I can't do right now, one because of problems with reporting, and one because a file has to be loaded, which should be done by the end of the day hopefully! I still have plenty to do (for now), but I'm giving myself a break, and letting you read my rambles! Don't you feel special!? LOL!
Well - we have all our crap in the new house...I can't wait to go through it all...I'm planning to get rid of everything we don't currently use...no more storing up for "one day"...cause when "one day" gets here...I will want "new stuff" not the stored old stuff (if I could even find it!)... We've decided to leave everything in boxes for now though...kinda...well we're waiting to do most of the unpacking until the new carpet is put in cause we've gotta shuffle stuff for it again. But that's to be taken care of Monday morning! YAY! I'm ready for pee pee carpet in the living room to be gone! Apparently the former owner's dog's favorite "spot" was right in the walkway to the kitchen...YUCK! Come on Monday! I think Monday will be the last day that I have to miss work for something on the house for a while too, which will be nice! :-) Fortunately most of this has all been at times when I'm not too busy (*read* not during close), but I'm running low on vacation time!! Which is kinda sad since I had FOUR weeks of vacation at the beginning of the year! (Granted I went on 2 week-long adventures this summer!).
Ok - I've rambled long enough for now...need to do a few more things...but now maybe my fans will be happy for a little while! ;-)

prayer link
I want y'all to notice the link I have to the right for prayers for Rebekah. It's a link I stumbled on, and have been keep up with everyday for the last week or so. She's a beautiful little girl...She's 3...and has lots of health problems (cancer related). Check out her site, and pray for her and her family.
sooo....buuuusssssssyyyy....
Ok...I'm ready for...lemme think....Wednesday of next week! I think that's when life will finally slow down! I called about getting utilities turned on in our name. What a pain...I've got to GO TO the water company to get it turned on...I have nothing better to do with my lunch than drive to Bryant! I called about gas, and they can't turn it on till Tuesday...I'm thinking we won't need the gas fireplace, heat, or stove top till later anyway, so no big deal...only problem is if the hot water heater is gas. Here's hoping it's not! I'll check tomorrow when Sears delivers our new fridge! How silly am I - I'm excited about our new fridge. Anyway...back to utilities...called the electric company and with what's going on in South Louisiana, they can guarantee it'll be on the 29th that's THREE WEEKS AWAY...we didn't send that many people down there. The lady told me that was excessive, to keep people from complaining if it takes longer than usual, but that if there were no LA problem it'd be on by Friday. She put in a note that we were moving this weekend, and needed it on Friday, so hopefully that'll be on. But never fear...the GARBAGE WILL be picked up on Monday morning! LOL...I found that to be extremely funny! No guarantee on utilities except trash. Actually the water people said they would have it on the next day after I come in, so if I go in today, it'll be on tomorrow.
Packing is coming along nicely...granted I think our stuff is multiplying like bunnies! I didn't think we had that much stuff, but sheesh, when ya try to box it all up, ya realize how much you really do have! I worked on the kitchen last night...and 4 boxes later, and I still have all my pots & pans, and most of my pyrex to box up....sheesh! I also got my bathroom done last night. The games have been packed...and my sweet wonderful husband is almost finished boxing up the books. We have agreed though that if we can get all the furniture moved this weekend (with help), and the stuff we've finished boxing, we'll be happy, we can finish the little things later (we have paid for the apartment till the end of the month!). We rented a 26 ft truck to put all our stuff in since it was the same price as the 22 ft. Should make it where we can do it all in one trip, considering the 22 ft was for 4-6 rooms!
Work has been kinda busy, but that's expected it's been "close"...the first four business days of the month! Today makes day five, and while it's still technically "close," it doesn't affect our group much, and doesn't affect me at all! :-) Granted I'm still catching up from being out a week for Vegas, and here and there for the house stuff.
This past weekend was fun...I almost forgot to talk about that! We went to Louisiana for the day on Saturday...to visit my college pastor and his family, and to visit my favorite red head and her family. First stop was lots of fun...the 2 girls were VERY excited to see us...he was cooking, and she was baking a cake...He fixed fried kabobs...they were very yummy! and the cake was still warm when we got to that part...YUMM! (yellow cake with chocolate icing). Got to do lots of talking and catching up...and lots of talking of politics...and lots of talking of what's going on in south Louisiana...basically...lots of talking! One of the churches in the small community he lives in has taken in some evacuees, and all the churches are chipping in to provide meals, so the one church that's housing them doesn't wear out. His church fixed breakfast for them Saturday, and was frying fish for dinner Saturday. When he left, we headed to our 2nd stop...and I got to love on a precious newborn baby girl (well 2 1/2 week old at that point). She's beautiful! And during her naps I got to visit with her parents, and love on her older brother, who was in a VERY good mood! We ordered Ray's Peegee....YUM! I haven't had that in forever...I don't think my sweet wonderful husband likes it too much, but he has his flaws too! LOL! We'll get to see them again in just a few weeks, since they'll be coming to Little Rock for a doctor's appointment for the 3 yr old boy.
Ok - someone's needing something for me, so I suppose I should actually do what they need, and get back to work...
Ta-ta for now!

So much to do....so little time!
Ok - so I have lots of things at work that I should be doing instead of writing this, but you see which I'm doing! I have lots to do for school...and lots to do for moving in less than 2 weeks, but you see I'm doing none of those, and writing here. Time management what?!? LOL!
I feel so cut off from the world...since my brother moved this weekend, the "friends" e-mail has been down...I feel like a Dilbert cartoon I had...Dilbert was walking up to pointy haired lady with his arms open saying "e-mail is down....hold me..."
Hopefully today we'll get to close on the house...we were supposed to close yesterday, but the mortgage company was dragging their feet, so we should get to close today...but not till "late"...which according to them is 3:30 up to as late as 4:15...eeek...we close in Benton, but my class tonight starts at 5:30 in Little Rock...I'm praying we'll get the 3:30 time, and that everything will go smoothly, so I can make it to class, and on time! We'll see! I'm rather irritated at the mortgage company, but fortunately there's no big "problem" with closing a day later than originally planned - it's more the principle of the matter! I wonder if they realize how much business they have lost for me talking about my problems with them while up here at work... Oh well - their loss!
School is going pretty well...I think I'm gonna like all my classes...I've been to all of them but one twice... Monday is my computer law class, the Professor is the Dean's son, and he's rather socially awkward, but the subject matter seems like it's going to be interesting...and there's no test in that class...just a paper to write... Tuesday and Thursday are Federal Income Tax Law, and Business Associations Law (different types of businesses), and those I think I'm really going to like...partly because it fits so well with my undergrad stuff, that it's familiar, and we're just adding the "law" side of it. Friday night is the class I've only been to once...it's Lawyering Skills...just the name makes it seem like it's an important class...but we've only been to the "intro" class, so I'm not 100% sure how much "work" is going to be involved, but rumor mill says quite a bit...
Ok - well the boss lady is wanting something from me, so I better get after it...*sigh* can't she see I'm busy here? LOL!

ok...back to the grind...
*sigh*...I didn't want to get up and come to work this morning! I've gone just over a week without an alarm clock, and to have to get up to one today...well...it stunk! And I have to go to class tonight as well... I was up late last night reading my assignment for tonight...that professor didn't post the assignment on the web (something I find funny since it's Computer Law!) I finished the reading, but it was painfully boring for the most part...it was "this is e-mail"..."this is the internet"..."this is how the internet got started"....blah! I knew most of it, but just as soon as I would have skipped a part, there'd have been something I didn't know! Oh well...it's done! Class tonight starts at 7...which is good, cause that means I'll have time to read some for tomorrow's class...I've got 2 classes on Tuesday and Thursday, so I've got quite a bit more reading to do than last night. I brought the longer reading assignment to read tonight, which is also the first class tomorrow night...it's Federal Income Tax...woo hoo! Then I have to read about 25 pages of Business Associations (I think this one is just intro stuff too).
Ok - enough about school...I was complaining last night about not wanting to go back to school today...and he was being supportive saying "you're almost done"...I smarted off that I've got as much left to do as I've already done! It was funny cause it took him off guard. Don't get me wrong...I love school, and I want to finish, and I like "most" of the subject matter...I'm just not ready for summer to be over...I enjoy getting to come home right after work to my sweet wonderful husband, and us getting to do whatever we want! :-) Ok - and I'm doing well at getting off the school subject aren't I! LOL!
Ok - for real now...off school...I had fun in Vegas last week...I'm glad to be home though...I did miss my sweet wonderful husband! (& I think even daddy can attest to the fact that he missed me too! LOL!) I did TONS of walking...my tootsies were tiiiiired! But it was neat to see it all. It was kinda depressing to see how much things really cost to the person who sells it retail to us...if only I needed 192 of the exact same watch, bracelet, purse, chair, etc! LOL! While we were doing the tourist-ey stuff we found another trade show, so that was cool...if I wouldn't have gone, then daddy probably wouldn't have found out about it cause it was in one of the hotels, that he wouldn't have gone back to if he were alone. Heck...after we saw the sign, we were both sitting down, and he was going to just look it up online later. I pushed for us to go see...it wasn't that much further to walk...so we did, and found the supplier for one of the items we(daddy) bought to try (a new product). I think that was the thing that made me feel like I contributed to the trip!
It was also fun to visit with daddy...we had lots of time to scheme against mom! LOL - just kidding - (wanting to see how closely ya read mom!). In a weeks time with you and just one other person there's lots of time to talk...(when my husband wasn't calling cause he missed me). :-) I netted about $40 winnings...roughly. I played the penny slots with $1 and won $5....another day played the nickel slots with $1 and won $11...another day played the nickel slots with $1 and won roughly $7ish...but that one spit out coins not a ticket to cash, so daddy & I played off of that for about an hour or so (till it was gone)...then My sweet wonderful husband insisted I play the dollar slots...so I stuck $5 in that, and won $60...Wednesday night we went to play bingo, and I paid for the first round (roughly $20), and daddy won $38...enough for dinner, and the 2nd round of bingo...it was fun...but we didn't win our millions! Granted we did get to keep (cause we paid for them) our dab-o-ink bingo daubers!! LOL!
Ok - been out for a week - I better get back to work - have tons to do, and a little over a week to get it all done in!
Ta-ta for now!

VEGAS BABY!!!!
Ok, so I'm gonna be gone for a whole week...and I don't know when/if I'll have time to get online while I'm in Vegas, so I figured I'd better give my fans something to read while I'm gone! LOL! I have such a mixed feeling about going...I'm SO excited to get to go to Vegas, and the price is unbeatable! ;-) But I'm having to leave my sweet wonderful husband here...This is the first time I've gone on a trip and left my husband behind. Oh and while I'm gone my favorite red head is having her precious little baby girl. YAY! (That's Wednesday!). I'm not going to get to meet her till she's about 2 or 3 weeks old. I hate that I'm going to have to wait that long, but I've got so much on my plate, and the mama said she understood! I think we'll go meet the baby the weekend after close, assuming we have most/all of our packing done. Speaking of packing...it's 10 PM the night before I'm leaving for Vegas, and I haven't packed the first thing...no I'm not a procrastinator...LOL! I've got till 11ish tomorrow to finish (factoring being at the airport 2 hours before flight time and travel to the airport). My flight leaves at 2:15, and I'll be in Vegas at like 6 their time...daddy will be there around 7ish, and we'll go to the hotel. I leave Vegas at 7AM Friday morning, and will be back in Little Rock at 1:15. I am looking forward to getting to see Vegas for the first time...I know...I'm rambling, but it's "my little spot" so I can do that! hehe...
Ok...well I'm tired of talking to y'all...I'm gonna go spend some more time with my sweet wonderful husband, and then pack, and try to get some sleep....granted it's like Christmas Eve, so I don't know how much sleep I'm gonna get.
Talk to ya later...miss me!
(p.s. sorry for any misspellings, Firefox won't let the spell check window pop up, and I'm not in the mood to make it behave...)

blah...
Ok...I don't wanna be at work...I don't have anywhere else I'd rather be...just don't wanna be here! There are 4 people in my department here today. Several of my group are in classes today, and several are just on vacation. It makes me not want to be here though! Oh well - I'll deal! I've had a headache all day today...that's getting old...I keep taking medicine for it, and it does dull the pain, but it won't go away! argh!
We've had a VERRRRY busy summer, but it's been a very FUN summer. Well I think so anyway. My sweet wonderful husband is ready for life to slow back down. I remind him that in about 2 weeks its going to come to a screeching halt! This coming week will be slow for him, as I'll be in Las Vegas! YAY! I'm really excited about going...granted at the same time, I hate that the last week off from school I won't get to spend with my sweet wonderful husband! Oh well - the price we pay to play! ;-)
I went today to order new glasses...with going to Vegas, I don't wanna have contact problems and have no alternative. The place said I should have them in by Friday...I hope so!!! I had glasses that I was just wearing as I needed them with the old prescription, but they finally bit the dust this weekend. I just got a cheap pair of no-name brand glasses, since I wear my contacts most of the time! After work I'm planning to go by Alltel and get my plan changed if it's possible. Supposedly now we can change plans as many times as we want without having to extend the contract. I figure with me being out in Vegas and my sweet wonderful husband being here in Arkansas, that we'll need more than the 100 roaming minutes we have already! I think the catch on that is going to be it's for a complete billing cycle, so I need to find out when my billing cycle is, so I can know if it's possible to do it! Hopefully it will, cause if not roaming charges are expensive!!!
I went yesterday to get my books for school...one more depressing step towards school starting again...I was only able to get books for 2 of my classes...I got 5 books for 2 classes, and spent over $300. Good grief! I'll go Thursday to see if I can get the rest of them! I really want my book for my Monday class before I leave for Vegas, so I can be sure to read before the first night of class...it'd be bad for the first night not to be prepared - BAD way to start the semester! The other one I'm missing is for my Friday class, so I have more flexibility in getting that one, but I'm hoping to get the rest of them in one trip!
I soo can't wait to get to move into our new house!!!! eek! Granted that means school has to start first...I have a week of classes, then closing, then a little over a week till we move. I'm excited! Granted in that week we'll have to get a fridge cause we won't have one in the new house! Oh well!
Ok well...I think I've procrastinated enough for now...I'll ttyl!

ok...so I'm a klutz
I am trying to eat some carrots, with salad dressing...and I keep dropping them...*sigh*...at least it's a healthy snack! I was looking at the pictures of my beautiful new house, and realized it's been a week since I posted...so to keep the whinners quiet *snicker*...here ya go...something new to read! Granted the 2 that mention to me that I haven't updated, don't have a blog...so they need to get one too! (you both know who you are!!) No excuses...and it' easy to set up! Get to it...that's your assignment for today! (click the grey B at the top and sign up for one...then come back here, comment, and leave me the link to you page!)... Ya know - it's weird...I apparently have some adoring fans, but none of them ever leave comments...you should be ashamed!! Post your comments...
Ok - that rant is over...just a weird tangent I was on for a few minutes...
So what's gone on in my life in the past week...? uhh... Last weekend I had company - it was tons of fun...their almost 3 year old is pretty funny! Oh yeah, and the parents are ok too! LOL! Just kidding! I love all 3 and 1/2 of them!) Too bad BOTH sets of camera batteries were dead...I don't have ANY pictures from the weekend! Oh well! We went to eat at Shotgun Dan's (pizza place - yummy!)...then went to Gander Mountain (Think Bass pro shop, but just hunting and fishing)...I think that's about all for Friday evening...Saturday we went to show them where the house is, and then went to eat at my FAVORITE steak house (in LR), which is pretty close to the new house - YAY!. Then we went to the mall to Build-A-Bear to get the stuffed friends some new clothes...Odie got some new Spider Man PJ's! He was very happy about that when we got home! ;-) . We met up with another couple friend who live up here, and had TCBY...then home and watched several episodes of Dukes of Hazard...then to Tia's for dinner...then went to play Putt Putt (which was fun...but HOT!). Sunday we got up for church, then went to Johnny Carino's for Italian for lunch...went home for the baby to get a nap (my husband was the only one to sleep LOL!). Then went back to Johnny Carino's for dessert! (yeah - it was a low fat weekend - LOL!) Then back to the apartment to watch "The Pacifier" - VERY good movie!
This week so far...Monday was very stressful...my sis-in-law that lives here had to have some "minor" surgery...but with how bad her health is, it wasn't that minor. In doing the Pre-Op they discovered she had some heart damage, signs of a heart-attack. Not to mention she weighs about 80 pounds.... Fortunately everything went ok, and she's home now... Monday night I had a Mary Kay Facial at an apartment across from ours...it was fun...and nice to meet someone who lives there (now that we're moving out - LOL!). Let's see Tuesday we had dinner with a friend from school and her son...that was fun...then went home and watched "Man of the House"...Good movie! Wednesday was church...then vegged on the couch for a bit. Tonight we get to clean up for the parents coming in this weekend (it's not that bad since we had company this past weekend!), and start packing to move! We're going to start early, and hopefully have it all done before school starts, so when moving day comes all we have is the minor things we use daily, and everything else is in boxes.
Ok - back to work for now...You're caught up...I look forward to reading YOUR posts! ;-)

the weekend....
Woohoo...3 posts in 7 days...aren't you proud? ;-)
I wanted to tell what I did this weekend...
Friday night we went out to eat, and then went to my in-laws to get stuff to go fishing...then Saturday morning we went fishing! YAY! It was fun! We rented a boat (one to paddle - all the ones with motors had been rented out). My sweet wonderful husband did most of the paddling! Woo hoo! Granted on the way back we were trying to beat a storm, so we took turns paddling!
When we got back to town, we cleaned up and went to buy me a present!

ya like?
I do!
It's a Ruger 357 Revolver
My sweet wonderful husband was surprised at how well I could shoot! I've told him before that I was in ROTC and had shot before, not to mention shooting friends guns in the past. He was basing it on how I shot my brothers gun, which dropped at a distance.
I haven't shot the 357's yet, but it also shoots 38's and I like those! We were on an indoor range and the boom for the 357's hurt my ears, and I didn't like it (when he shot them)! I promised I'd shoot it with 357's when we went out to the outdoor range where there was less echo!
Then Saturday night We watched a couple of borrowed movies. We watched "Terminal" and "The Highlander," both good movies. We've had several to watch, but haven't had time to watch them with all the house hunting. Oh the one that we were going to make an offer on had a contract already, so that was out. I'm ok with that though! There were 2 new listings today when I looked, so we'll go look at those, and see if one of them suits us better! I have faith that God has closed the doors on these last 2 we liked because he has something great in store for us, that either hasn't come on the market, or we haven't seen it or something!
Ok - well better wrap up as it's time to go home, and if it's not raining we're going fishing again tonight! YAY!

don't wanna...
I don't wanna work...so I'm taking a break...I've worked really hard almost ALL week...very little "playing" at work this week, but today I need a break! :-)
I've been listening to Beauty & The Beast Broadway Soundtrack! YAY! I've been wanting it since I got back from NYC the first time, and had seen it on Broadway! The music is fabulous! It's making me miss the good 'ole band nerd days! *sigh*
This week has been a week of blasts from the past! It's been kinda weird. I have a college friend who got married I think it was last summer (after me) and moved to Oklahoma where her husband took a job as youth pastor there...I forwarded her something, and she e-mailed back a nice long e-mail about what's going on in her life. Also my best friend from my high school days (a guy) is apparently back in Alex, and got in touch with my parents...I haven't had a chance to call him yet, but I intend to. At first my sweet wonderful husband wasn't too cool with the idea of me calling another guy, but I told him I'd talk to him in front of him (nothing to hide), and even invite him up, so they can meet! It's weird that they haven't met yet, but I lost track of the Alex guy, so I couldn't do anything. I tried to invite him to our wedding, but after 3 calls to his parents house to try to get an address, all while going to school...it just didn't happen!
We went looking at houses again last night...I think we're going to make an offer on one of the 2 we looked at last night. It was the 2nd time we went to look at it, and we both really like it...the biggest noticeable problem (with a close look) is that the carpet in the living room and dining room needs to be replaced and we're leaning towards the wood lamanent with a big area rug. I don't like carpet everywhere because it's so bad for allergies, but my husband doesn't want just hard floors, so an area rug is a compromise.
Oh to make a certain friend jealous - I'm having "Tommy-toes" for a snack! YUM!! and I have more at home...got 2 FULL ziplock bags from my father-in-law, and I'm still working on them.
This weekend my sweet wonderful husband and I are going to go fishing...YAY! I'm excited, and I KNOW he is too...as soon as I suggested it, he started planning for it (he's such a planner and I'm so not!), but it was non-stop chatter about it. To avoid the problems with the "family" boat, we're just going to rent one when we get where we're going. He said it'd only cost like $25 and that's worth it not to have the issues!
Well - I think I might have run outta things for now...better get back to work...
Bye for now - have a wonderful weekend!

once a week...?
Ok so it's looking like I"m gonna post about once a week...who knows...I'll post when I have time, or don't feel like working. This is one of the "don't feel like working" times, so this might not be all that long...we'll see!
Well we didn't get the house we had made an offer on...there's something strange with the whole thing, so we're ok with being done with it, and moving on. We've got a few others we want to look at...one we've looked at before, but we're gonna go back and look at again (as the price has gone down)
We went to the mortgage company for pre-approval Friday...that was rather uneventful, except the guy we had talked to about pre-qualification (that we thought was extremely strange), was there...it was a little awkward, but either he didn't wanna talk to us, or he didn't remember, so it wasn't a big deal... Then we headed out to Funroe right after. We got there around 9ish, and I went to help get everything ready for the baby shower. It turned out really good (in my personal opinion - which is of course the main one that counts) granted the mommy-to-be said she enjoyed it too, so I think it's safe to say it was a good shower! Then we had the men come in and eat some of the left over food. Then the men went shopping, and the women stayed "home" and chatted, and ended up watching "Tarzan." I had never seen the Disney version of that, so I really enjoyed it. Granted it was put on for one of the almost 3 year olds to watch. When the men got home we teased them about shopping like a bunch of old women...LOL...they started out planning to go to the sporting goods stores, and ended up at Lifeway. We went to eat Vietnamese food for dinner before we left town...it was ok...not my favorite...but not the worst thing I've ever eaten either. Then headed outta town. We got home late! We intended to get up in time for church Sunday, but the long weekend got to us, and we didn't get up till noon! So we took our time getting ready, grabbed some lunch, and headed out to house hunt. Ended up missing evening service too (I know we're a bunch of heathens), and had dinner with A&M at the Bistro.
Yesterday was my now 9 year old nephew's birthday party. It was at Chuck E Cheese across the highway from us. We couldn't come up with what to get him, so we got him a gift card to Wally so he could go pick something out himself! He was happy with that! We played the games and such - it was fun! The last time we were there was for the same nephew's 7th b'day party! It's fun to pretend to be a kid again! I hated that his mother couldn't be at the party...apparently she was sick again...this is the 2nd of his birthday party's she's missed (she missed last years too).
My sweet wonderful husband is on overtime again...*sigh*...We both like the extra money he gets, but him getting up so early...and he of course can't just get up...he's gotta "snuggle" (read pester if I'm still asleep) with me before he gets up. I don't get irritated because I know he's just trying to be sweet, but I'm tired because of it. Oh well - hopefully it won't be too much longer now. The guy he works with that he can't seem to get along with told them yesterday that he's quitting...Yay! Actually it's a good thing both for him and for the company they work for. It seems this guy has the worst production scores, and just flat out doesn't do things that he should! And he's gotten a job as a fire-fighter, which is what he wants to be when he grows up. The main reason I think he's still had a job at the company they work for, is because he's the owner's nephew! So it appears that my sweet wonderful husband might actually like his job again! We'll see though!
Ok well I've wasted enough time, and I'm about outta things to say (for now), so I'd better get back to work...
later!.....
edit: apparently I can't type today either... ;-)

the past week
ok...so I haven't posted in the past week...guess I could catch up on what's been going on...
Last Tuesday we got to go see the house I mentioned in my last post, and 2 people had made an offer on the house, and another was wanting to, so that ruled that out rather quick...granted we did go see the house, and it was rather nice! My sweet wonderful husband was rather bummed. Then Aunt M told us of another house...that as of our first outing was pending a sale, but by Tuesday had fallen through. That house was nice, and was asking less for it. Woo hoo! So we made an offer that night! They had till Thursday to accept or reject....they counter offered...so we counter offered that... Come to find out the house is being foreclosed on, and we're dealing with a bank. They didn't like the offer Friday, so we had to wait through the weekend before we could offer again today. We should know by tomorrow afternoon if we're gonna get it or not. I'm ok with it either way... Granted lots of things have gone in such a way, that I think this is what God has for us, but if it's not, then it means He has something even better, so that'll be great too!
We had friends up this weekend...YAY! We had a blast! Went to Blanchard Springs Caverns and toured the cave, and then went to swim in the stream. The 6 year old was verry impressed with being UNDERGROUND!!! Then Sunday we went swimming at a friends parent's pool. Monday did a little shopping and the guests went home. It's always sad to me when they leave, but the good thing is I'll see them this coming weekend!!
This weekend, I'll get to go to Funroe! Yay! I'm co-giving a baby shower for a friend! If we get the house, it'll probably be just me going down Friday morning, and leaving Saturday after the shower... cause if we get the house, we'll have less than 15 days to close! (and we have to pack and stuff!) If we don't, then we'll both come down, and enjoy a weekend away! It's all up in the air still!
Well - it's getting close to quitting time, so I better get off here, so I can go home! Hopefully my husband will be home when I get there (he had the day off, and has been out at his parents house working in the back field). (I'd have spent the day being a bum or playing - he's so 'sponsible...wait not really...working in the field is like play for him!). Anyway - still getting off here for now...
Don't miss me too much!
