once a week...?

Ok so it's looking like I"m gonna post about once a week...who knows...I'll post when I have time, or don't feel like working. This is one of the "don't feel like working" times, so this might not be all that long...we'll see!

Well we didn't get the house we had made an offer on...there's something strange with the whole thing, so we're ok with being done with it, and moving on. We've got a few others we want to look at...one we've looked at before, but we're gonna go back and look at again (as the price has gone down)

We went to the mortgage company for pre-approval Friday...that was rather uneventful, except the guy we had talked to about pre-qualification (that we thought was extremely strange), was there...it was a little awkward, but either he didn't wanna talk to us, or he didn't remember, so it wasn't a big deal... Then we headed out to Funroe right after. We got there around 9ish, and I went to help get everything ready for the baby shower. It turned out really good (in my personal opinion - which is of course the main one that counts) granted the mommy-to-be said she enjoyed it too, so I think it's safe to say it was a good shower! Then we had the men come in and eat some of the left over food. Then the men went shopping, and the women stayed "home" and chatted, and ended up watching "Tarzan." I had never seen the Disney version of that, so I really enjoyed it. Granted it was put on for one of the almost 3 year olds to watch. When the men got home we teased them about shopping like a bunch of old women...LOL...they started out planning to go to the sporting goods stores, and ended up at Lifeway. We went to eat Vietnamese food for dinner before we left town...it was ok...not my favorite...but not the worst thing I've ever eaten either. Then headed outta town. We got home late! We intended to get up in time for church Sunday, but the long weekend got to us, and we didn't get up till noon! So we took our time getting ready, grabbed some lunch, and headed out to house hunt. Ended up missing evening service too (I know we're a bunch of heathens), and had dinner with A&M at the Bistro.

Yesterday was my now 9 year old nephew's birthday party. It was at Chuck E Cheese across the highway from us. We couldn't come up with what to get him, so we got him a gift card to Wally so he could go pick something out himself! He was happy with that! We played the games and such - it was fun! The last time we were there was for the same nephew's 7th b'day party! It's fun to pretend to be a kid again! I hated that his mother couldn't be at the party...apparently she was sick again...this is the 2nd of his birthday party's she's missed (she missed last years too).

My sweet wonderful husband is on overtime again...*sigh*...We both like the extra money he gets, but him getting up so early...and he of course can't just get up...he's gotta "snuggle" (read pester if I'm still asleep) with me before he gets up. I don't get irritated because I know he's just trying to be sweet, but I'm tired because of it. Oh well - hopefully it won't be too much longer now. The guy he works with that he can't seem to get along with told them yesterday that he's quitting...Yay! Actually it's a good thing both for him and for the company they work for. It seems this guy has the worst production scores, and just flat out doesn't do things that he should! And he's gotten a job as a fire-fighter, which is what he wants to be when he grows up. The main reason I think he's still had a job at the company they work for, is because he's the owner's nephew! So it appears that my sweet wonderful husband might actually like his job again! We'll see though!

Ok well I've wasted enough time, and I'm about outta things to say (for now), so I'd better get back to work...
later!.....

edit: apparently I can't type today either... ;-)

the past week

ok...so I haven't posted in the past week...guess I could catch up on what's been going on...

Last Tuesday we got to go see the house I mentioned in my last post, and 2 people had made an offer on the house, and another was wanting to, so that ruled that out rather quick...granted we did go see the house, and it was rather nice! My sweet wonderful husband was rather bummed. Then Aunt M told us of another house...that as of our first outing was pending a sale, but by Tuesday had fallen through. That house was nice, and was asking less for it. Woo hoo! So we made an offer that night! They had till Thursday to accept or reject....they counter offered...so we counter offered that... Come to find out the house is being foreclosed on, and we're dealing with a bank. They didn't like the offer Friday, so we had to wait through the weekend before we could offer again today. We should know by tomorrow afternoon if we're gonna get it or not. I'm ok with it either way... Granted lots of things have gone in such a way, that I think this is what God has for us, but if it's not, then it means He has something even better, so that'll be great too!

We had friends up this weekend...YAY! We had a blast! Went to Blanchard Springs Caverns and toured the cave, and then went to swim in the stream. The 6 year old was verry impressed with being UNDERGROUND!!! Then Sunday we went swimming at a friends parent's pool. Monday did a little shopping and the guests went home. It's always sad to me when they leave, but the good thing is I'll see them this coming weekend!!

This weekend, I'll get to go to Funroe! Yay! I'm co-giving a baby shower for a friend! If we get the house, it'll probably be just me going down Friday morning, and leaving Saturday after the shower... cause if we get the house, we'll have less than 15 days to close! (and we have to pack and stuff!) If we don't, then we'll both come down, and enjoy a weekend away! It's all up in the air still!

Well - it's getting close to quitting time, so I better get off here, so I can go home! Hopefully my husband will be home when I get there (he had the day off, and has been out at his parents house working in the back field). (I'd have spent the day being a bum or playing - he's so 'sponsible...wait not really...working in the field is like play for him!). Anyway - still getting off here for now...

Don't miss me too much!

the weekend

Well...the weekend was spent looking for a house! It was actually fun! We found 2 we really like...we've seen the inside once on each of them. Aunt M...the real estate agent aunt of my sweet wonderful husband, had been helping a lot! She's been a lot of fun to work with too! We've got one more for sure that we want to look at before we try to make a serious decision. It's not vacant till Tuesday, and since the people were working on moving out, they didn't want to show it until they were actually out (understandable...)... Aunt M said to never make a decision based on the first walk through, so if we can go see the other one on Tuesday, we'll see if we can see the 2 we know we like again, and maybe by the weeks end offer on a house?? Wow...to be a grown-up is kinda fun! hehehe...

The first house we saw that we liked...was 3 br 2 bath...1440ish sq ft...2 car garage...vaulted ceilings in the living room and master bedroom (which makes them feel bigger!). The downsides to that one...main one is the washer and dryer connections are in the garage...when we went to see it, it was obvious that she had just finished drying clothes, and was HOT in the garage! The kitchen countertops are mauve...it's not TOO bad of "pink" but it's still pink, so it'd be something we'd want to change...the grass in the back yard is mostly dead (good thing in my opinion...less to mow, but my sweet wonderful husband doesn't like that)...he thinks we would need to get rid of some of the trees in the back yard...there's 3 or 4 big trees back there...

The second house...we referred to it as "the house next to the dirty house"....because the house next door was for sale also, and we went in it first, and it was nasty....really that's the biggest drawback on the house next to the dirty house...is it's got a nasty neighbor...granted it appears she's moving (since the house is for sale), but what would be willing to move in to that house in the shape it's in...and where is the street going to go in terms of value considering the house next door...I also didn't really like the location of the master bedroom in this one...it's right inside the front door. That back yard was on the same playing field as the 1st one with my sweet wonderful husband...the other problem is there's a major road behind the house...there's a privacy fence, and a big ditch between, but you can still hear the cars, and such...oh it's a 3 br 2 bath 1380 sq ft. The house was painted really cute, granted some of that cute we'd want to change...for instance the main bathroom has electric blue walls, and an electric blue and neon green shower curtain...the daughters room is HOT PINK totally....well more a barbie pink I guess...really cute if we had a girl...but since it's just us, and neither of us are that fond of pink....

We are leaning more towards the 1st of the 2 mentioned here...but we want to see the other one before we settle on it, and try to decide on what to actually offer on the house...

Also in the news...some of my peoples are coming up this week!!! YAY!!! 4 days till I get to see 3 of them...then the next weekend we'll be in Funroe (for a baby shower I'm co-hosting)...then the next weekend 3 more of my peoples will be up here...It'll be fun to have 3 weeks in a row of friends...granted that's going to put a little more of a constraint on "closing" and moving...not that we'd close on a weekend, but it means more than likely the next weekend we'll be moving possibly...

And not long after that the summer's over...how sad... Oh well...I'm enjoying each moment, and not worrying about how quickly it's ending!

Well better get to work...well...the "fun day activity" starts in 7 minutes, so I'm gonna go to that!
Ta-ta for now!

an e-mail I got....good perspective

Best Day of My Life Ever!

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!

There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did!

And because I did I'm going to celebrate! Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart. I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.

Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know.

Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for him and how much he means to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me.

I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.

And tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.

As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!

Ty Pennington

How did the 2 of us that won end up on the outside?!? Oh well!!

ok ok...so it's been 2 weeks...

*sigh* life just flies by if you aren't carefully watching! My mom told me the other day that it'd been a while since I blogged, and K mentioned this AM that I didn't blog about meeting Ty Pennington. ok ok ...I get the hint...you all miss me terribly! *snicker*

Life's been good...busy, but good! Went to Funroe the weekend of the 10th. That was fun, but it always is! Got to see a baby friend get married (a friends baby brother). It was really sweet! I loved the song he wrote for her that was sung(well played) right after the vows. It was all emotional, and my favorite 6 year old looked at me and "whispered" "Angella...is this song ever going to end...?" Made me smile, and I was able to get through the whole wedding without crying. Also went to a 1 year olds b'day party. It was funny. The almost 3 year old was very excited about all the presents, and the one year old while somewhat interested...wasn't nearly as focused on them.

Last week...I got to meet Ty Pennington. That was cool. Had a group picture taken with him. Me and another of my co-workers won "VIP passes" and we each took a fellow co-worker, so the group pic is of the 4 of us. I got an autographed phone, and autographed picture, and a $50 gift card to Sears (which I spent this past weekend!). It was a fun day! Kinda neat how it all worked out...I wasn't even going to answer the trivia question, and my "mom at work" made me do it. She was in class with me Thursday when I got the call...she said it wasn't fair, but that as long as I took her as one of my 3 guests it'd be ok... Not 5 minutes later she got the call that she too had won! It was great...made the boring "business writing class" not so bad! :-D So I brought a co-worker, one of my sister-in-laws, and my sweet wonderful husband (I think he just wanted to make sure I didn't come home with Ty's phone number! LOL!)

This weekend we had church directory photo's taken...and had a Jones family picture taken (since we were all there)...they turned out really good! I spent my Ty Sears gift card on new clothes, so I could be remarkably cute in picture! hehe

Ok - well - I've rambled enough for now...need to get back to work...I have a meeting at 3 that I need to get stuff together for, and I haven't done that yet! I'll try not to wait as long for the next post!

Actually I'll post the Ty picture when I get a few minutes.

Later!

caffeine free....

Well...my sweet wonderful husband and I decided to give up caffeine...(for lent?!?)...lol...my co-worker across the aisle said he and his wife just decided to start running...I asked if it was New Years of something with all these changes everyone's making...I'm on day 2 with no caffeine, and while I have a headache, it's not that bad...and everyone around me is still alive, so I think I'm doing pretty good! :-)

I don't wanna be at work though...I have plenty to do to keep me busy for a long time, but I don't wanna do it...the part I'm supposed to be working on right now is VERRRRRY tedious! and verrrrry boring! You see what I'm doing instead!

I get to go to Monroe this weekend - YAY! :-) I miss my peoples it's been since my mamaw died since I've been there - so like almost 3 months...I'm having withdrawals! Granted there's a lot going on this weekend...a friend's youngest child's first birthday party is this weekend, and another friend is getting married...it'll be a busy weekend, but should be a fun one regardless! Granted it's always fun when we all get together!

ok - I guess I better get back to work for now...

Anniversary!

Wow - it's been a whole year....and at the same time...it's ONLY been a year... It's funny how time does that. It seems like I've been married to my sweet wonderful husband forever...we know each other so well already, and love each other so much that it seems like it should have been many years ago that we got married. But at the same time the memories of our beautiful wedding seem like they were just yesterday....ok not just yesterday, but not a year ago either!

I was told before I ever met my sweet wonderful husband, that when you are married to someone you fall more in love with them everyday. When I married my husband, I didn't think that was possible...I just loved him so much...I didn't think it was possible to love another human being as much as I loved him...but it's true...I do love him more today than I did yesterday, and way more than I did when I married him a year ago! The LORD has truly blessed me with a WONDERFUL husband! I pray that when we celebrate our 10th...20th...50th wedding anniversary that we continue to grow closer and more in love with each new day. I've seen so many couples grow apart...if you're married...hug your spouse extra tight tonight, and love them more tomorrow morning than you did tonight...and I'll do the same!

My sweet wonderful husband and I went away this weekend...it was great! It started out a little rocky as he was tired from all the going last week, but when we got there, and saw the cabin, and got settled in, he was happy we went as well! It was BEAUTIFUL! And peaceful....it was just great...I won't promise pictures anytime soon, as you see how well I've posted pics from out west, but if you're part of the group of people I'll see this weekend, I'll show ya pics then! I think it's a great romantic spot as well as being roomy enough to do a "group" function...there was a master bedroom with a queen/full sized bed, a futon in the "living area" that was a queen/full, the loft had a futon just like the living room, as well as another bed (can't remember the size, but I think it was a queen/full) - we didn't hang out in the loft, so it didn't stand out. It had a fully stocked (with appliances, not food) kitchen...a gas grill out back... a critter feeder out back (we saw like 5 or 6 deer the first night)....it was close enough that we drove to Mystic Caverns on Saturday, and went to Eureka Springs as well... We forgot to bring the 1 year old cake with us, so we went by my mother-in-law's after church tonight, and got it...it was freezer burnt...ick...we cut into it and ate a bite or 2 from the middle, and that wasn't too bad...it was kinda sad because the icing was the best part of the cake! Oh well, we know I didn't ruin the diet with the top of the cake! LOL!

Ok....getting off here for now...just wanted my anniversary post to be ON my anniversary...time to go spend the last hour of our anniversary with my husband *wink* *wink*....

Greetings from out west

Well I'm finally where I have an internet connection! Woo hoo! I've been having a lot of fun...basically not working, not going to school, and overall not worrying about anything! It's beautiful out this way.

I've been to Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, and back in Colorado tonight! Still to go through New Mexico and Texas, and to be home Sunday some time! I've been to some of these places before, but some of them I haven't. We spent the last 2 days in Yellowstone! That was fun...got to see lots of animals up close an personal! I'll post pictures when I get home cause I don't feel like messing with it, and my mother-in-law wants to use the internet too! In Yellowstone we were cut off from everything technical...except the laptop we brought! No cell phone connection, no TV, nothing...it was nice. I did get the text messages though, responded to my brother, and K I'll have to get back to you on yours have to check the calendar when I get home. If you left a voicemail, I haven't gotten it yet, but sometimes you don't get those when you are roaming, so I might have one when I get home, I don't know...

It's been so fun, and my sweet wonderful husband is ready to leave "pleasant-ville", and move out west! YAY! hehehehe....not for at least 2 years though, still have to finish school!

Ok - better get off here for now, but I'll probably get back on later, after my mother-in-law finishes...

Miss everyone, but will see you soon (if I know you HA!)

Contacts and other stuff....

Well I've had contacts for about a week now...I think I really like them! I was a goof this weekend though! I was working on one of my take home exams, and noticed I was having trouble seeing...my right eye has been the one that's given me the most trouble, so I assumed that was the problem...kept working with it....finally decided to give up and take out the contacts, cause I had to get the exam done, and back in by Sunday evening. Went to take both out, and realized I didn't have the left one in....I had put it in, but it wasn't there now....ack! I hadn't messed with that one at all, but distinctly remember putting it in. Went to check the bathroom to see if it was in there...no luck...gave up, called the dr's office since they have Saturday hours, to see if I could just get another one....message that they close at 3 on Saturday...you guessed it, it was 3:30....irg....went back to my exam figured I'd just worry about it Monday. At some point looked down at my feet (by the couch), and there was my contact....it was all dried out, and hard, and folded in half....great! I decided to put it in solution to see if it would soften back up, and maybe unfold....checked about 10 minutes later and it had softened up, but was stuck folded, so I tried playing with it a bit, to unfold it (can't use it folded at all), and proceeded to tear it (CRAP!)....put it back in the solution and went back to my test....several hours later thought of them again, and went to see....yep...easily unfolded, and could have been worn (after cleaning)....except in my impatience...I'd torn them....*sigh*...live an learn! Called this morning, and went at lunch and got a new set...good grief! They don't bother me today at all...well the left one I can feel a little, but the right one I can't really (and yes it's still in my eye - I checked!).

Tomorrow morning the fun begins with about an hour of work followed by another trip to the dentist....it seems if you skip a couple year going to the dentist, they like to make up the lost business! I have to go tomorrow AND Thursday for fillings....fortunatly it's just fillings, and nothing worse, but still...good grief! I'm not too worried about tomorrow's visit, since I'm getting the goofy gas to calm me down...just not looking forward to returning to work, and not really being able to eat my lunch as half my mouth will be numb, and I'd look really cute with food, and water and such dribbled down my clothes! Thursday will be the same fun, but won't work first, I get to go straight to the dentist...woo hoo....

Amongst all this fun, I have to finish my last take home exam (I'm hoping to finish tonight). I started last night, but only got about 25% of it done. It's not due till Wednesday night, so I'm not too worried about getting it done, I just have to take the time to do it! My sweet wonderful husband agreed to have a "no TV" night tonight, so I'd get it done. He said he'd rather have me home with the TV off, than for me to go up to the school to do it. He's such a sweetie!

Thank goodness this week ends with VACATION!!!!!!!!! I'm so ready! And Friday evening we'll get to see some friends that moved to Oklahoma, that I haven't seen since I went to Florida to visit my college pastor (they were both in Florida at the same time).

It's weird to try and think of descriptions of people so the readers who know me personally will know who I'm talking about, but where I don't use names (trying to protect the not so innocent...after all if you're associated with me...)

Well so far as work goes I've got to have all months stuff done before I leave (3 more working days), so I better get back to it!

Later!

Wednesday, May 11, 2005

notice anything different?

Just curious to see if anyone can tell what's different?

Got a final tonight, so my slacking should be spent on studying (but then is it slacking?)....oh well...need to do that while I work instead of this....but I'm curious to know if anyone can tell what's changed???...

Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Is it Friday yet???

Oh my goodness...this is the longest week!!!! and we're only on Tuesday!?! I'm sooooo tired this morning...I actually slept really well, it was nice and cold in the apt, and I was all snuggled up under the blankets, and when going to bed last night was getting a bad headache, so took a flextra and an Advil, and conked out! Didn't want to get up this morning....and really wanna go back to bed still! Oh well, I can hold out till lunch.

I scheduled an eye appointment for this afternoon...we just got a good vision plan this year, and I can tell my eyes are getting worse. So it's looking like I'm getting more bang for my buck in law school after all...not only will I have my JD, but I'm also earning really bad eye sight! It's really not that bad compared to some of my blind friends, but it is getting worse.

I also scheduled a dentist appointment for Thursday around lunch time. I figure I've been paying for this dental coverage for 2 1/2 years, I might as well use it! Also with vacation coming up, I don't wanna be somewhere out west and have tooth problems...and with my luck...that's how it'd happen!

So I'm bein all 'sponsible and stuff...

And Wednesday night I have a final, and Friday night I have a final (the way I wanna spend my Friday lemme tell ya!). I have 2 take home finals...one I was planning to do this past weekend (based on my wording I"m sure you already know), but I didn't get it done. The other take home I have 48 hrs from when I pick it up to finish it, so I think I'm gonna get it Friday night after that final, and do it Saturday, and turn it in Sunday.

This is shaping up to be a very fun filled week....can you tell...I know you're jealous!!!

LOL!

I got a funny e-mail I'm going to see if I can post in a little bit, so stay tuned for that....ok - I can't do it - anyone know how to add a video type thing to a blog? the picture program won't do it, so I can't attach the funny....*sigh*....fitting for this week!

better get back to work for now...

memories...

Ya know how we have those moments in our life that we can remember so vividly even years after they've happened....it's like it happened just yesterday? On my way to work one of those moments were brought to mind, and made me wanna cry....cause it made me miss "my peoples"... The Christian radio station here had Michael W. Smith on the show this morning, and they were playing lots of his songs... They played one of his songs that I'm not 100% sure of the title but it starts like this...."Here's where the road divides...here's where we realize, that the path he chose for me, is not the path he chose for you..." It goes on talking about how much we care about each other, but we have to go separate ways. It brought to my mind the night I left purple cow all alone.....my friends that had helped me move in were headed back to their hometown.....my brother and sis-in-law were settling in to married life a bajillion miles away...and we were all coping with the fact that we wouldn't be able to be together all the time like in the past. I cried on the way back to my apartment, as I was all alone in a new city where I knew no one (granted a friend would be moving their the next day, but that night I was alone). The apartment was very quiet when I walked in...only boxes waiting to be unpacked waited for me. That's the group of images that came to mind, and it made me want to cry all over again (yes I'm hormonal right now, so that's part of it - I'm not usually so weepy). I thought about where this path has lead me...and how blessed I really am! The song continued "pray that we will keep the common ground".... which of course made me think of how much we have kept in contact...and how great it is when we get to spend time together (almost) like old times. It also made me want to see everyone again...but must wait until finals are over!

Ok - on to something different....

14 days till vacation!!! I can't wait! I'm ready to get away from work for a bit, just for a break, and I'm more than ready for school to be over! And of course I'm looking forward to going out west...the only "concern" is that we are going in my mother-in-law's Hyundai Elantra...The 4 of us and our luggage for a week of varying weather conditions. We'll manage I'm sure, and it'll be fun...but I drive an Elantra, and I'm trying to put the puzzle together...and it's big pieces, and a small car to put them in!

I'm tiiiired today! I was up till midnight at a friend's house working on an outline for our exam that's next Wednesday! And we only finished about 1/3rd of it...we'll start back tonight right after work...speaking of work...I probably ought to get back to it since it is day 4 of close.

Bye bye for now....

Nothing important to say

I haven't posted in a few days because I haven't had anything I've wanted to say...and have been really busy both at work and with school. I really don't have much to say today, but I'll write anyway, it's my world, I can do that right! :-)

I'm SOOO ready for finals to be over. If I can make it through the next 24 days, I'll be headed out west on vacation!!!! I can't wait! I'm not TOOOOOOOOOOO stressed over finals...nothing more than usual anyway, but the subject matter isn't going to be "too bad" from what I can tell so far. Granted I've got to study a ton still!

I'm going to Juvenile Court today. I'm kinda looking forward to that. I missed the tour of the juvenile detention center, and to make that up, my professor said I could just go sit and listen in court for an hour or so. Since tomorrow's the last class for me to talk to her about the experience, I kinda have to get over there, and fortunately they said I can come today. The only caveat is that since juvenile proceedings are confidential that if either attorney doesn't want me in the court room then I have to leave. Since I'm not from here, I'm doubting that there will be too much problem, as it's very unlikely that I'll know any of the "kids" there. Each proceeding will be different attorney's so if one won't let me in, hopefully the next would. I'll letcha know tomorrow how it went.

I've got several things to finish before I go though, so I'm gonna get off here for now...I might add more later (depending on when I get done at the court house).

Later....

ho hum...

I'm in class right now...juvenile law...I don't really like the class...it's not bad...it's just I've realized I couldn't practice in this field, so it's caused me to lose some interest...and the format of the class...she doesn't call on people, so there is less incentive to prepare for class...and the final is a take home, so I'm thinking it won't be too bad! So here I sit in class writing my thoughts instead of taking close notes...still taking some though.

Got a little irritated at work today...no real reason for it...not a big deal...in the month of March the lock boxes (the big accounts that I'm responsible for booking the money for and for reconciling each month)...I book the cash from a Z file, that I don't create...I just make it post to the GL...March 9th activity (to be dated the 10th) didn't get posted...simple mistake, human error, no big deal...problem arises in that the VP is looking at the CACO account, and the other half of my entry that I post is to the CACO account. So there was a $2.5 million variance that they couldn't explain, and come to find out it's my file that was missing that caused it. Not a big deal, and the way I'm doing it now, it's less likely that I'll miss a file...well my manager sent me an e-mail saying that I have to keep a check list from now on, and my supervisor came over and talked to me about it...I felt a little better after talking to my supervisor, but when I got the initial e-mail, it irked me. It's ok now, and I'm not in trouble or anything, but it was irritating at the time. I guess no harm no foul. And the check list isn't a bad idea...it just rubbed me wrong - I think it was simply a case of you can't tell tone in e-mail...ok...enough of that...

I have to schedule a time to go to watch Juvenile Court...I really want to go, but I've got to find time. I found out tonight that if I don't go, then it'll just count as an absence...that takes a little pressure off, but I do want to go watch...I think that'll be really interesting. The only problem comes in that I've got to get it done by next Wednesday.

I CAN'T WAIT TILL SUMMER!!!!! I've got 2 weeks of class, reading week, and then finals...and then I'm heading out west!!! yay! I can't wait till I can have a break from the fast paced high stress of school. 2 of my exams are take home, and 2 are in class exams...I'm only semi-worried about one of them...well...2 of them...1 of the take home exams I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do "ok" on...but the material hasn't been presented very well...and the main one I'm worried about is my Property class...I've learned most of the material...and I'm pretty sure I'll do "ok"...but knowing that the prof is probably going to lower my grade by one level (like from a B+ to a B, so not toooooo bad)...but that means if I only do boarder-line that it'll be lower than it should be....I'll just have to study my butt off...

Ok - I can't think of anything else to write right now, and I think I've rambled on long enough for now...better tune back into class....

arg........

I'm irritated, so here's where I can vent...and it's my fault...*sigh*...I wasn't prepared for my property law class tonight, I knew it going into it, that's where it's my fault...I've been called on before, and wasn't prepared...tonight had an excuse (sorta), because we had something due tonight in Civil Procedure. I've never missed this class without a reasonable excuse...and decided tonight not to skip because I could get more out of it being here and being unprepared, as opposed to just skipping. The professors policy is if you miss 5 classes you fail (remember have only missed 2 classes - once for headache, once for Mamaw passing away), and her other policy if you are unprepared multiple times she can lower your grade. Basically if I'd have skipped I'd have been fine, but since I came, she can lower my grade...and basically she told me she was...I asked if there were any way to avoid getting my grade lowered, she said basically no...I did ask her about the skipping class as opposed being unprepared, and she said I'd have been better to have skipped or have been prepared...I don't blame her at all...it's her policy, and I had the option to be prepared (would have had to give up sleep though), so it is my fault, but it's frustrating...

Ok - ranted enough - better pay attention to second class (was gonna skip just outta frustration, but classmate talked me into staying).

field-trip

Aren't you excited - 2 days in a row I've posted! Today we're going on a field-trip...we have a "fun day" each month, and we didn't get to do anything for January, so we're going to the races! I'm excited - I've never been to horse races! Maybe I'll do good on beginners luck?? Who knows! I'm just going to have fun, and not worry about winning...granted if I do - I'll spend it!! I tried to convince my sweet wonderful husband to let me take the state refund ($132) and try to double it, but he wouldn't go for that...shucks! LOL! With my luck...I'd lose it all...and quickly! He's the lucky one in the family. Well we're supposed to leave here at 10...and they've kicked us out of TRECS (one of the systems for work), so I can't do a whole lot of actual work...now you know how you are getting a second post!

I'm thinking I'm going to take off tomorrow morning...I've got an assignment due tomorrow night...it shouldn't take too long to do, but I haven't had the time to do it (and I forgot about it this past weekend!)...and that'll give me some time to clean too (assuming the assignment doesn't take that long - it looks rather easy)...and have even considered taking off Friday to finish cleaning the house...it's not as bad as I make it sound, but it's rather cluttered...and when we are both in school we tend to let some things slide...but with company we really need to clean. And hey - it's an excuse to take a 3 day weekend! hehehe Not 100% sure on the Friday though - that'll depend on how tomorrow morning goes.

Well just found out we can get back in TRECS, so better get something done before we leave in 40ish minutes.

Tuesday

It's bad when I'm running out of things to "title" my writings...granted usually that means I don't have anything specific on my mind, and I'm just rambling...but that's ok, right? I thought so! :-) My supervisor is out today - her son is having tubes put in his ears, which means I have a little more flexibility in writing something on here. Granted that doesn't mean I have less to do...got plenty actually!

Mom and dad are coming this weekend...we've got to get the apartment clean...yikes! It's not that it's "dirty"...it's just cluttered! Oh well - we'll get it done - we always do! It'll be their first time to see the new apartment...I just realized it'll be the first time they've come to visit since I got married...weird...oh well! My sweet wonderful husband and I were trying to decide where all to go out to eat while they are here...we know Tia's is on the agenda, as they got a gift card from there for Christmas...wonder where they got that from - LOL!

I just realized - I forgot to call the munchkin who got to go to NYC last week...was gonna call her last night, to hear her take on the trip...ooops, will have to do that still...should have done it as I was going to bed last night at 1AM...? She'd have still been up right? LOL! I was trying to get my reading done for class tonight (got 2 of 3 cases done for one class, and blew off the other one), and helped my sweet wonderful husband edit his paper that's due tonight, and helped him with his take-home test for math (taught him how to do it, so he could do some of them). I could tell he was tired last night, as he was VERY irritable...I can't wait till they get done with overtime...or till school is done...or both...so he'll get more sleep...he's always more pleasant when he's had plenty of sleep! Tonight hopefully he'll go to bed not long after I get home, as he was up till 1 last night too, so he only got 4 hours of sleep, while I got a whopping 6 hrs...but that's because I slept a little late...

I'm SO ready for vacation!!!! We leave 5 weeks from Friday. I'm looking forward to it for so many reasons! #1 School will be out #2 it's a week off of work #3 We're going out west #4 it'll be my sweet wonderful husbands first time to go to Colorado, and my first time to go in the Summer...that's all I can think of right now - but I'm sure there are more reasons that I'm excited - I'll get back to ya on that! :-)

Well - better get back to work now...didn't have much to say, but have said a lot...guess it was a lot of nothing?!? LOL!

just thoughts...

Today the thought keeps running through my head..."when does it stop hurting"...it's not a physical hurt...it's an emotional one...I miss her...it's weird because I wouldn't usually see her on a day like today...but for the last 3 days I want to...I'd love to be able to talk to her...I know part of it's because I'm "emotional" this week, but part of it is other things...I have her picture on my desk...I like it there...it's from her days before she got sick...and the smile goes from her chin to her cheeks, and sparkles in her eyes!

I think of her kids...my dad and aunt and uncle...the 3 she gave birth to...she had 8 that she raised...and all of them were hers and don't dare say otherwise...but I think of the 3 that have her genes...and it makes me sad...I'm the favorite niece and favorite daughter of all...partially because I'm the only daughter of one of them, the only niece of one of them, and I've just decided that I'm the favorite of the other - it sounds better that way (in my opinion - and that's what counts on here! hehe). The 3 barely speak - daddy and the aunt don't talk at all, and I know that it goes both ways...neither of them are willing to sit down and work it out...(I think because they both have her stubborn genes - but I don't know that for sure)...I honestly believe if they would sit down (no spouses...no kids...no significant others of any sort), maybe a neutral 3rd party to keep the conversation going?...and talked...honestly and openly about EVERYTHING...including the "personal attacks" mentioned to other siblings, but never to each other...that maybe they could begin building a relationship again?...It kills my soul to think if my brother and I had a relationship like theirs...I hope he and I always work things out...As for my dad and my uncle...well...I think the biggest part of them lately is stubbornness in general...one says one thing the other says they are wrong...they leave mad...one figures out he was wrong and calls the other...and again things are "ok"...until it happens again...The 2 of them talk some, but I think communication is the biggest "problem" overall with the 3 of them...that's my personal opinion...I know she would want them to have a close relationship... All of her kids - 7 of the 8 had a good "relationship" the last week she was alive...I think that made it easier for her to let go and be with Jesus...cause her kids were together again...it kills my soul to see how it's fallen apart since then...

I think that's what I would want to talk to her about...how do I fix this?...can I fix this?...is it possible to make it better?...I think deep down it bothers all 3 of them...not that any of the 3 of them would talk about it...

How is it the snot nosed kid they all three used to all spank and fuss at (on the rare occasion I needed it), is the one that can see there is a problem...they are supposed to be the grown ups, and me the kid...so far as our relationships go...right?...I know...I'm an adult now...but it just seems things are all mixed up right now!

Maybe all it needs is time...? I don't know...in my 27 years I've never seen time alone fix problems...but maybe time will lead to the needed communication...?

could i BE more jealous?!?

One family of my close friends are in New York visiting my brother and sister-in-law...could I BE more jealous (in Chandler voice)...? I'm not really jealous as I'm just wishing I could be there too! Granted when another family of close friends go the end of June, I'd wanna go then too, and would wanna go with just me and my sweet wonderful husband! I don't begrudge them the time with my family on in the big city - after all - I've been THREE times...and this is their first trip...
I hope they have a BLAST! I wish I could see their daughter's face and how she reacts to the big city! I'm sure there'll be LOTS of pictures!

Oh my goodness - belly so full! It's day 3 of close at work, and as usual they brought in lunch...they brought in the Villa, which is a very yummy place. (I've eaten there once and it was ok, but what they bring in to work is great - the salad is shredded lettuce with cheese that looks like white cheetoes). I've been doing Weightwatchers for the past 4 weeks or so, and doing really well on it! I haven't used hardly any of my "extra" points they allot per week, but I think I burned through them like crazy for lunch! Good thing a new week starts soon, but bad thing for getting on the scale on Thursday! I've lost 7lbs so far and I think more inches than pounds, based on how my clothes fit!

Work has been CRAZY busy for the last couple of weeks, but fortunately last week school was out. This week, I get to juggle both work and school. And to make things worse, this week my sweet wonderful husband's work is forcing a split shift. Not too bad except he has to be at work at 6AM, so he has to go to bed at 10ish to get enough sleep - taken into consideration that I don't get home till after 9:15ish, so we don't get to see each other much this week - blah! I so can't wait till finals are over! May 20th my sweet wonderful husband and I head out west with his parents, and they have said they are paying for gas and hotels - that's the biggest expense (granted we'll pitch in - can't let them pay for it all), but with them not expecting much from us, it'll make for a fun trip without the worries of money! It's not that they think we don't have the money - it's just that they hate the thought of us spending our money! They get mad when we've tried to buy dinner a couple of times - not mean mad - just adamantly not wanting us to spend our money.

Well - I better get back to work - it IS close after all!

Wednesday

Well Spring Break is about half over...that's sad! Work has been CRAZY this week - so it's a good thing I was on Spring Break. Apparently "they" (not sure who "they" are) want to write off 32 million dollars, and the VP (I report to a supervisor, who reports to a manager, who reports to a director, who reports to the VP mentioned here) is wanting to review ALL the Cash accounts before he gives the blessings. It's understandable that he wants to look at them, and that he's wanting to start with the "big" accounts. Guess who reconciles the "big accounts"? You guessed it - ME! So I've been busting my tail to have something done this week, so hopefully we won't have to come in Sunday when he's wanting to go over them! YIKES! We've almost gotten it done, and I've put in quite a few hours getting my part done, so I haven't gotten to "play" much for my Spring break...haven't had time to type on my blog about the weekend for goodness sakes!

This weekend was great! My sweet wonderful husband and I took off Friday! YAY! We stayed up late on Thursday for some unknown reason (I'm still not sure why we did that...? - and no it wasn't for marital relations either - I know y'alls dirty minds!). We slept late on Friday morning - YAY! I LOVE sleeping in! I wish I had a job where I went in at like 10AM everyday, but I wouldn't want to work as late as that would require! We got up and packed, loaded up, and left by 11. Got "fancy coffee" on the way out of town. We headed towards Branson. My sweet wonderful husband was really wanting to go to Cosmic Cavern after he saw a special on TV about it, so we figured we'd go do that on Saturday. On the way to Branson we saw the sign for "Hurricane River Cave," and I suggested we stop. We weren't on a schedule, so there was no hurry. It was COOL - it was the first time I'd been in a cave, and I really enjoyed it. Fortunately we were the only ones there, so it was just the 2 of us and the guide. At one point in the tour when we were in one of the "big rooms" of the cave, the guide turned out the lights to show us what it was like in the dark - WOW - it gave me an inkling of what Hell is like because I couldn't see ANYTHING! Once we left there we went on to Branson, and got a room at the hotel my parent-in-laws stay at, and then went to find some food. We went to the Toy Museum Friday night also, and that was kinda neat. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't what I was expecting if that makes any sense. The people were really nice, and there was Christian music played throughout the museum, so that was cool too. Saturday we got up and went to Cosmic Cavern, and I was just as excited as he was at this point. While it was cool, I think I liked Hurricane better...At Cosmic we had one other couple and the guides, so it wasn't as crowded as the group ahead of us (they had like 15 people), so it was nice. The main noticeable difference in the 2 caves was Cosmic has had more "destruction" than the other cave...the stalactites (sp?) were all broken and stuff. It was a bigger cave, but it wasn't till we got to the back of it that we got to see some of the neater things, that weren't destroyed. We headed back to the hotel, and crashed for a nap, and then went to eat at Landry's (YUMM!!!!!!!) and played indoor miniature golf. Sunday we got up and tried to shop a little, but most things didn't open till noon, so we went driving around and stumbled upon a trout hatchery by the Lake. That was kinda neat too, they had little bitty fish, and some really big fish and you could feed them like at the zoo (and it was free - not the food - that was a quarter, but "entrance" was free). Then we headed back in the rain. It was a VERY relaxing weekend - and I needed it!

I'll try to post some pictures from the weekend a little later, I need to get a little homework done, as the week is half over, and I was going to take the time to get all caught up, and I haven't cracked a book yet! YIKES!

I'm supposed to hear from some Monroe friends (who are here visiting family), and we're supposed to do dinner or games or something...not sure when that's gonna happen though, the week is half over, and I haven't heard from them yet...? I'd call, but I don't have their cell number...oh well...we'll just go about life, and when/if they call we'll go meet them.

Off to study for a bit!

wow...

well - I promised one of my friends I'd give her something to read this afternoon...so here goes. I think it's kinda funny because I harass several of my friends that have blogs and don't update them very regularly. I'm have a decent excuse this time though - didn't work Friday for getting ready to go out of town...was in Monroe all weekend with family, as we all leaned on each other as we said good bye for now to mamaw. It makes it SO much easier knowing #1 she's not suffering anymore, and #2 that she's with Jesus now! She's the first family member I've lost that I can say with as much certainty as a person can have, that she was saved! Several of her family members went on before her, so I know she's enjoying that reunion right now. I'm hoping she can't see us down here though because I know it would bother her immensely to see what's going on with her children. I think she was able to finally let go and go home to be with Jesus after seeing her kids "play well together" for several days. She loved listening to them laugh and cut up, and they did that up until she passed away. They behaved until Sunday, and then it all ended.

One thing that I learned was how blessed I am! I got the call that it was all over, and I still had several people that I had to call...people that cared because it was my grandmother. And at the funeral home the only time I wasn't visiting with my friends was during the "family time." Almost immediately after family time was over I had friends there, all the way up until I went to pick up my brother from the air port. These people meant so much to me, they were there when I was down, and made sure we spent the time laughing and visiting and such. I just felt so blessed!

In other news, my favorite red head found out what she was having........a puppy!....ok...I'm just kidding...she's having a little girl! She said they are 90% sure, but that's pretty much because the doctors can't "guarantee" with a girl because there's nothing to "see"...she said they did get lots of looks at the leg area, and there were only 2! ;-)

I'm excited - today's my Friday!!! I'm off tomorrow, and me and my sweet wonderful husband are off to play! I can't wait! We haven't decided for 100% sure where we're going, but it won't be in Little Rock, and it'll just be the 2 of us, so it'll be LOTS of fun! Not that I don't have fun with people, but we both just need a few days away! The last couple weeks have been extremely stressful, and some of that's gone, and next week is Spring Break, so we don't have to worry about getting homework done over the weekend! I'm hoping next week during the week we'll get to get a lot of studying done, as it won't be too much longer till finals are upon us! (4 weeks!) But we'll enjoy the week, and it'll help remind us what we have to look forward to this summer!!!

In other good news...the guy that my sweet wonderful husband doesn't get along with so well at work...they compete to much to get along, and the guy is like 22, and thinks drinking is where all the fun is at...anyway...he's going to nights...they are about to start a "night shift," and the other guy will be "in charge" of the night crew, and my sweet wonderful husband will still be on days! That should make his job SO much more stress free!

Ok - I better get this posted, as I told someone they could read it at 1, and it's 1:06, and I still have to spell check!!

Mamaw Fern

As we come to the end of her life, I struggle with letting her go at times, but it’s harder seeing her “tired,” so the Lord has granted a peace about it. Last night, as I lay in bed, knowing my husband and I will leave our cozy apartment in Little Rock tomorrow, to bid our final farewells to Mamaw, all I could hear in my minds ear was her laugh. It made me smile! I don’t remember a time when Mamaw wasn’t smiling or laughing (except the one time she put me in the corner for leaving her at Granny Jenkin’s – but she was taking too long, and I wanted to go back – but that’s another memory for another day). I will always remember the twinkle in her eyes. It was such a happy glow, and usually meant she was up to something. It was never mean spirited, as that wasn’t her nature, but when you saw the gleam you could be prepared to hear her giggle, as some joke was told, or funny thing happened.

I also think of her very generous heart. And I don’t say that just as a spoiled granddaughter who got gum or candy at every visit! I don’t think anyone who met her would say otherwise (and they didn’t get the gum and candy!). She gave birth to 3 children, raised 8, and yet has 16 people that call her mama saying good bye. WOW! Not to mention all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I can’t ever remember her saying “No” when someone asked her for something. When we’d come in for a visit, and want to know what’s going on with her, her stories were always about helping someone. And it wasn’t because she was bragging, it was because that’s what she did, and loved doing it!

One of my favorite Christian songs talks about leaving a legacy. The chorus that speaks to my heart says this: “I want to leave a legacy, how will they remember me, did I chose to love, did I point to You enough? I want to leave a mark on thing, want to make an offering, child of mercy and grace who blessed your name un-apologetically…” It goes on from there, but that’s how I hope to live my life, and it’s how Mamaw DID live her life, she pointed to Jesus by her life. She never apologized for her faith, or what she believed it, and had a personal relationship with Jesus. She loved going to church, she especially loved “singin’s” at the church, and I think she knew all the Gather songs by heart from watching them so much on TV.

If I had to say what Mamaw’s legacy was, it would be “child of God, mother of many, friend to all.” She’ll be missed, but her life will live on in each one she’s touched, who do as she did, and continue her legacy.

in class...

Ok - didn't take the time to write this morning, but hey - ya got 2 posts yesterday, so I'm keeping up!

Today was rather...dreary...the day started out pretty well at home...left for work on time and had all my junk with me when I left. It was overcast ALL day which always affects a persons mood...it's so hard to be "chipper" when it's all dreary out side...on my way to work mom called me to update me on Mamaw, which I was ok with, it was what I expected, but it was hard to hear that daddy was up last night at 2ish, and was upset. VERY understandable, but it breaks my heart. I'm thinking he's been the big brother for the last year and a half through all this, and last night the word was that in about 3 days he's losing his mom, and he was the son again. He's been SO strong through all this though, please keep him in your prayers. The hospice nurse came by last night and said mamaw will probably go into a coma today, and within 72 hrs everything will be over. They started morphine last night too, so she shouldn't be in pain at all. Mom said mamaw doesn't talk, her only sounds are the occasional groan like when they try to turn her (to prevent bed sores), but that she does open her eyes, and can nod her head yes, so questions have to be worded where she can affirmatively answer.

My friend that's currently in Nebraska working for the company I work for is in town since yesterday, but it's looking like with my school schedule and his class schedule (the class he's here for at corporate) that we won't get to see each other at all...but he'll be going to Monroe tomorrow after his class gets out, so we might get together in Monroe...depending on when we go down south. My luck we'll be going down south Saturday when he's flying out of LR, and I'll still not get to see him...who knows! It's not like we saw each other "all the time" or anything - just when I went to Monroe he was on the list of people to visit, and now he's not there...I haven't seen him since he moved the end of last year...

I can't wait till Good Friday!!! I still don't know where we are going, but I'm ready for Spring Break (which is the following week), and I'm ready for a trip somewhere "just for fun."

I did good in the class I'm in right now - paid close attention for about 75% of the class - lately for this class I've been playing Spades all through class, and not paying close attention. I paid real close attention till my mind started wandering, so I decided to write here, for the last few minutes of class. I was even mostly prepared for the class - go me! For my next class I've read the equivalent to Cliff's Notes for Court Cases for most of the class, which is more than I've been ready for the last couple of classes. It's been so hard to focus on reading for class. The down-side is that for Spring Break - I get to play catch-up during the week, but at least there won't be classes to go adding to the load. I WILL BE DONE BY FINALS! LOL! And then it's off to the west with the in-laws! I'm looking forward to the summer and having "free time" again.

Ok - need to spell check, post, and potty before next class.
Bye for now...

You failed!

It's Monday...

Well - I've gone almost a whole week without posting...eek! Work has been so busy, and that's usually when I post!

I meant to post a happy birthday on Friday to a friend that had a special birthday - big 3-5! Unfortunately I wasn't able to be with him and his family for the big day, but I'm sure they had a wonderful day!

I didn't get very many responses to the covenant marriage question which was a little disappointing, but I guess y'all don't wanna talk to me about that stuff...Our church is doing a big push right now for covenant marriages, and had a "ceremony" last night for the 57 couples who converted their marriages. My stance in a nut shell - I have a covenant marriage, not the kind recognized by the state, but a covenant between my sweet wonderful husband, God, and myself, which was witnessed by most of my close friends and family on June 5th of last year. With the state's stance on separation of church and state, the requirements of a covenant marriage aren't going to be met....it requires counseling before marriage, (which most people do anyway) and counseling before divorce, which #1 state won't enforce, if they do it won't be "Christian counsel" required and #2 Divorce isn't an option for my sweet wonderful husband and I, so it's not an issue. I've tried to talk it over with several people, and haven't been able to change my stance, to see the need to change our marriage. Granted - there would be NO harm in changing it, BUT there's no need in it either. Several from our church seem to just be blindly following the pastor, which I DO think you should follow the pastor, as he follows the Lord, but in this one, I think the church should step up, and not require the state to "fix" the marriage problem in America today! Marriage is an institution created by GOD, not the state, so His "rules" apply, not the states. Ok - I've rambled on long enough on this subject!

My sweet wonderful husband and I are taking off Good Friday (YAY!), to go out of town. We're running away for a few days, and I can't wait! Both of our Spring Breaks are that next week, so we don't have to worry about doing homework on that weekend. I need an escape. I'm just hoping that that's not the time my grandmother goes to meet her Savior. I'm figuring it'll be this week sometime, I've told two of my professors that I might have to miss a couple days of classes, and the other 2 I can e-mail. According to my mom, she barely stays away 5 minutes at a time these days, and has already told mom that she's "tired," and has become extremely weak. Knowing my grandmother, a VERY independent woman, I'm sure she's ready to go on home now. She's lived a VERY full life, raising 3 children and 5 step children, spoiling MANY grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She'll be missed by all of us when she goes on, but I KNOW I'll see her again! And right now I get to see her smiling face all day while I'm at work as I have her picture right by my monitor, and it's from the days when her health was good!

Ok - on to happier thoughts so as not to end on something sad...I started Weight Watchers last week! YAY! I'm excited about it! I tried it once before for two whole weeks, and didn't have any luck, but I don't think I was nearly as into it as I am right now(actually I know I wasn't). And according to my home scales I've already lost 2 1/2 lbs!!! YAY!! While I know that's mostly water weight right now, I'm still excited, as my weight has been stuck at a number I don't like for a while now...and it's a little lower already! Woo hoo!

Ok...back to work now...
Don't miss me too much!

wow.....

How sad....I realized I hadn't posted at all yesterday! I know all my faithful readers were very disappointed! LOL! I guess I can give you a treat then...I'll post a new picture of Odie...

he got a new outfit this past weekend. I had some friends visiting from out of town that went to Build-a-bear, and I was IN the store...how do you resist buying such cute clothing when you are IN the store...I couldn't ...so I bought some...hehehe...my sweet wonderful husband is beginning to complain that this is the Valentine's day present that keeps on giving! hehehe

We had a WONDERFUL time this weekend with our company! Need more company...so who's next?!? We went to The Old Mill on Saturday afternoons...of course we had WONDERFUL weather this weekend...and took lots of pictures...I'll try to post one of my sweet wonderful husband and I later tonight...well...so you don't get too disappointed it'll be up by the weekend?...hehehe...don't wanna be a liar!...I don't want to post any of the pictures of the friends because I don't have their permission, and they might not like themselves online - I dunno... Then on Sunday we overslept, so we were heatherns and didn't go to church...once we were all up and dressed we had lunch at Tia's YUM! Then decided since the weather was still beautiful we'd go to the zoo. It was SOOOO much fun...the whole weekend...it was a stressfree weekend, and I don't get those very often...so someone else needs to come up and give me another one soon...

A sorta sad note...my mamaw isn't doing so well...the hospice nurse has said we are looking at a week to 2 weeks at the most...and that's pushing it...I'm pretty much ok with it because mamaw told my mom last week that she was tired (and not in the "sleepy" sense). I will miss her terribly when the time comes...but have tons of fond memories, and I know she's saved, so I'll see her again. She's lived a full life, so I'm ok with her getting to meet Jesus real soon! Please pray for the family though - 8 kids are about to lose their mother, and all 8 spouses are about to lose their mother (she's been like a mom to all of the spouses too)...and I can't count the number of grand kids and great grandkids! wow!

Well - 2 families of friends have bought tickets to go to NYC in the next couple of months...could I BE more jealous?!? hehehe I'm glad they'll get to experience it, and I have been 3 times already, but...whine...I wanna go again...! I'll have to discuss it with my husband, and see what we can work out for our "next" trip up that way...

Got a question to generate comments...and I have it where anyone can comment...so feel free...you don't have to be a member of blogger to comment(but inappropriate stuff will be deleted)...The question...what are your thoughts on "Covenant Marriages"? Our church is doing a big push for people who's marriages aren't "Covenant Marriage" to change them...My sweet wonderful husband and I don't have one, so it's been a hot topic around our house...and the verdict is still out on what we will do, but I'm wanting feedback from the readers....I did discuss it with the house guests this weekend, so they know what my thoughts are, but I'm not wanting to share that yet....will do it later this week...I want to hear from you for now...

Bye for now...

*singing* FRIIIIIIDAAAAAY!!!!!!

YAY! The week has finally reached it's end! WOO HOO! It's been a good day today...haven't done as much as I should, but I figure that's "ok" because I've worked my tail off (promise - I don't have a tail anymore!)... As you can tell by the fact that I haven't had any time to blog! Ugh! So much for starting yesterday with a post...oh well...

I really should be creating some invoices, but instead I'm on here...and yes I'll be whining at 4:30 when I can't leave because I have to finish the invoices...but for now...I'm enjoying what I"m doing! I have several meetings next week, but it shouldn't be nearly as hectic as this week was...

Oh for those who haven't asked me/ or someone else who asked...the pregnant person is my favorite little red head! I choose not to use names, but if you actually know me and are reading this, you should be able to figure it out. Her baby is due on the 3rd birthday of her sweet son! I can't wait to meet him or her! (I've put my vote in for a girl!) I think in about 4 weeks or so they'll know what they are having...if I understood correctly...

I'm having company this weekend - YAY!!! I love my Monroe Peoples!!! It's just one family coming up, but that's ok...we'll still have a blast...I've determined it's easier for people to come up and see me because up here, I'm the only one to visit (well that's not 100% true, but our nurse friend works on the weekends usually, and our other couple friends come play with us usually when people are up, so we're all in one place). When I go to Monroe I have SO many people to visit! And I realllllly want to see them all, and that's REALLLLLY hard when you come in LATE Friday night, and leave after church time on Sunday...there's only so many hours in the day. It's even worse right now while my Mamaw is so ill, cause I want to spend as much time with her as I can when I'm in town...that time is so limited...fortunatly I have wonderful friends that understand the situation, and make it as easy on me as they can (they are still there, and I do want to see them too!)...*sigh*...

Ok - I'm supposed to leave in 11 minutes, and I still have to do the invoices, so I better get off here for now...granted my sweet wonderful husband won't be home for a little bit (they are still on overtime), but with company coming - I've got some cleaning to do!!! ACK!
Bye for now...

Day 2

Well today is both day 2 of the month of March, as well as day 2 of close...I'm almost to a month of writing my thoughts on here...wow! I've kept it up this long!

I'm sitting in Juvenile Law right now, and have missed the first half of class, and the last half of my Family law class because my computer crashed! Granted I did volunteer in Juvenile to present the first case because she said that while she was taking volunteers, she was going to call on people who hadn't presented yet, and I was one of those, and had only read the first case. Yay me...granted with computer problems I sounded much like a bumbling idiot, but that's ok, it's taken care of now. After running adware software to remove spyware, and finding quite a bit, and running Norton, and finding nothing, I'm not 100% sure what caused my blue screen. And have missed enough of the conversation in class today, that it's pretty much a lost cause.

Today was a reallllly good day! I found out some friends are coming to visit this weekend! YAY!! I miss my peoples! My sweet wonderful husband said the same thing! We're excited!

I also mentioned to my boss that I'm interested in the Financial Analyst 2 position that's just come open...asking if it's realistic with my school (me thinking it was, but noting my inability to work overtime), and she said it was possible, and that it was a good option! That was promising! Granted it's not certain because they haven't decided if they want to fill it as a 1 or a 2...so waiting on that to see if I can apply for it... The Parallegal position appears to have fallen through the cracks, for now anyway, which I believe there's a reason for it, so I'm waiting to see what the Lord has for me!

The other good news I found out...a good friend of mine is expecting....I'm so excited...I was told I could tell, but I'll leave it as "sort of" a mystery to give her a chance to tell anyone else she wants. (Even though she's already had a couple of months - I was shocked she kept it a secret that long.) She knows this site, so she can comment if she wants...if not maybe tomorrow I'll give her identity away...But pray for her & her family that all goes well...

Work was pretty good...busy...but good overall...I felt like I knew what I was doing which is always a good thing!:-)

Overall a good day - yay! Almost time for me to go home - even better! Hopefully tomorrow I can do this when I want (in the morning over breakfast while getting the day started, but before work)....we'll see! Well time to get ready to shut down, and need to spell check and post this, and save everything and then actually shut down and go home to my sweet wonderful husband!
Bye for now!

goodness...

Goodness...it's been a while since I stopped long enough to post...I've got TONS of "busy work" on my desk, so it's hard to be slacking when ya have a big box of stuff to go through (and about 12 more down stairs!)...

Friday was a typical work day...well except we got our Federal taxes back, and my school tuition reimbursement and it was payday...woo hoo! We went to Build-a-Bear and got Odie some casual clothes, I'll have to take pictures later and post them...then went to Macaroni Grill....YUM! I'd been craving it! Had even forgotten how yummy the bread was - that's WAY too long between visits! When we got home we watched "The Village" - it was good! Not quite what I was expecting, and one that you don't figure out till the very end - I like those kinds of movies!

Saturday was Studying, and then we went to dinner with my ma-in-law & pa-in-law...went to Grandpa's - a fish place - it was yummy too...then we watched "The Notebook"...I really liked that one...guys if your wanting to be reallllly sweet to your ladies, watch this with them...I will warn it does have a few scenes that don't need to be in a movie (although it's getting to the point where they all do now), and don't watch the "deleted & extended scenes," there aren't any good ones, and lots of sexual nudity that's not needed at all (it was good that it was left out of the movie)...I must say I don't cry in movies...but this one I bawled...it wasn't all that "sad" really...I don't want to give away too much, but it was sweet!

Sunday was church, and then we went to the in-laws for soup. We were going to go to the shooting range after wards, but that morning I couldn't find the extra bullets to my (Gerald's) gun, and couldn't find my safety glasses (they got put somewhere in the move, so we could find them later HA!), and the range requires safety glasses on the pistol range. So we agreed to go this coming weekend, and plan ahead more, so we can find everything! We ended up spending the day at his parents house, then church, then home to finish homework. I really wanted to watch the other movie we have "The Vanishings" (I think that's what it's called), but my husband wanted us to be all responsible and stuff, so we didn't watch it, and did homework (no fun!)....

I was supposed to bring those movies back to a classmate tonight, but they are still sitting by the TV where we left them. I was also supposed to bring her some movies, and you can probably guess where they are - yep - right beside her movies! Oh well - she knows how absent minded I am!

Well it's day one of close, so I probably should get back to work...I'll try to make myself take breaks to write here.
Bye for now!
