gentlemen....

I must say - I was extremely happy today...on my way to take my nap at lunch...I got on the elevator...only 1 other person on the elevator, and they were getting off on 2...on the way down about 6 other guys got on, and they were going to 1 also...we got to the bottom, and I was the ONLY female left on the elevator and the guys tripped over themselves almost trying to get out of my way, so I could be the first one off the elevator...and not tripped out of the elevator...they were moving further back in the elevator (I was in the back since I got on first), to make sure I could get off...it was just really nice...so often these days women get offended by males being gentlemen, but I still like it (and not just because it means I get to go first - just because it means there are still gentlement in the world)...there have been a few times at work where men weren't gentlemen with regards to the elevator, but today they were, and it made me smile...I guess it was even nicer because they were "manly men"...tall with broad shoulders...would have made 2 of me (but not in a fat sort of way)...

I'm in class right now...I got to work this morning and had to hurry and get my thoughts together because I had a 9:00 meeting with my supervisor and manager...just reviewing recons to see if we had any problems, but usually I'm not awake by 9:00...I'm sitting at my desk, working, but not awake!

Class tonight (right now) is Property Law...and it's going pretty well...I was a little worried about how much I had read for tonight, but she spent the first hour of a 90 minute class talking about something we weren't supposed to read (she was giving an overview, so we'd have a clue about it in the future), and then we had a break, which we still are on...and we get out at 7:30, so my 10 pages have turned out to be more than enough...also one of my class mates is talking to her, so I don't think she's realized we've had about a 15 minute break...when it was supposed to be about 7...

Well class has started - 16 minutes left of class, and she's gotta introduce the new material...woo hoo...

Next is Civil Procedure (how to file a lawsuit, and the rules that go with it...might type more then...

Bye for now...

short post

I was trying to get something done for a meeting in the morning, so I didn't take any time to post here....I JUST finished it, and it's time for me to go to class...I kinda need to talk to my supervisor before I go, but she was in with the manager, so it might wait till tomorrow...

I was bummed out last night...the happy meal toys are now from "That's So Raven"...I got a "fortune teller" last night...big pink glasses...and a paper to fold like the little fortune tellers we made from note book paper as children (the glasses were tinted so you could use them to read the fortune - written in blue with red blurry on top)...I'm thinking my favorite 6 yr old will get the glasses (if she doesn't get one from her own happy meal), and the "fortune teller" will go in the trash! I must say it was better getting that than the stinky boy toy I got the day before!

Ok - my supervisor is outta the office, gonna go see if I can catch her, and then go to class

ta ta for now

break time....

Ok...I decided to come to work this morning and get busy, and be productive from the get go...so I put off writing here till now...I've gotten a lot done today...woo hoo...Didja notice I finally put up a profile picture?!? Aren't you proud?? I am! :-)

Last night I got my usual happy meal requesting a girl toy...and they were outta girl toys, so I got the boy toy, which is a really cheesy toy...I was very upset! What am I gonna do with a cheesy boy toy?? I guess I could give it to my sweet wonderful husband...? Don't know what he'll do with it though!

I just found out my property class was canceled tonight - woo hoo! I'm glad I only prepared for my other class, and decided to postpone my property reading! YAY! I'd probably be a little irritated if I'd have stayed up till 2AM preparing for that class, and then it was cancelled...granted I still get to go home earlier!

Tomorrow night in my juvenile law class we're going to the detention center here...that should be pretty interesting! I've learned that I can't do Juvenile Law...I wouldn't be able to separate work from home I don't think! But the class is interesting! I've got to remember to leave my jewelry at home or hidden in the car at least...and no cell phones...the professor also told us to dress appropriately for being around teenage boys...no skimpy clothing...duh!

The weather here has been sooooo pretty! Yesterday and today in particular...it's been sun shine and clear sky's and a cool breeze...makes me not want to come back in to work after my lunch nap! Granted part of that is the fact that I'm getting to sleep, and don't want to get up...but like normal, I can get past that...it's the coming in while it's so pretty out side...makes me want to move my desk out there...I was thinking yesterday that I wished there was some way I could show y'all how pretty it is outside, but I realized that the picture would just look like a summer day, you wouldn't be able to feel the temperature, or the cool, gentle breeze! I know it all sounds cliche' but it's true!

OH - forgot to mention yesterday...after all my griping and fretting over Kay's...they fixed my ring at no charge...yay them...guess they'll get to keep my business afterall! :-) And YAY that I have my rings back...I'd been missing them! They are so pretty (I know I'm biased), and they make me think of my sweet wonderful husband!

There was something else I was going to mention that I forgot yesterday, and remembered later in the day, but yet again, it's slipped my mind...maybe I'll remember it later!

For now - it's back to work for me!

Odie

This is my Valentine's day present from my sweet wonderful husband...We went Friday to "Build-a-Bear" and made me a puppy...and the picture doesn't show it very well, but he's in a Marine Corps uniform...It was fun to make him...the lady at the store was picking on us because we didn't get him any undies...so I told her he liked to go commando...hehehe...He does need shoes though...without shoes he looks like he's wearing shorts...so we're gonna go get him some shoes probably later this week (it's payday week, and we should get our tax money in this week - woo hoo!)...We named him Odie Jones...after Justin's grandfather since I refuse to name any of our children "Odie"...

Saturday, we didn't do a whole lot...we did homework until early evening, and then went to run a few errands...then that night we watched Disney's "The watcher in the woods"...it was a good movie! It's definitely a dated movie...and the special effects aren't all that great, but considering when it was made...it was pretty good...and the plot was good too!

We were heathens Sunday morning and slept late...usually when I'm in the mood to be a heathen, my sweet wonderful husband gets me up anyway...and when he's in the mood to be a heathen, I get him up anyway...problem this Sunday is we both were in the mood to be heathens, and there wasn't anyone else there to make us get up anyway! Then we went out to lunch with my in-laws for my birthday...it was fun...and my mother-in-law and father-in-law gave me a $25 check to go buy a movie...she was going to get me "The Notebook," but didn't know if I wanted to see it, so she gave the money, and said I could decide for myself...I do want to see it, so that's probably what I'll spend the money on! Went to church Sunday night, and then went to my in-laws for a quick visit & to get some rabbit ears for the TV that my mom got my husband for Christmas...(actually mom got him a gift card, and we went and got the TV with it in our errands Sat., and didn't realize it didn't have an antenna)...now we have a TV in our bedroom, and it get some channels that the big TV doesn't...how weird!

This morning didn't want to get up - as usual!...I got up late...my sweet wonderful husband had to go to the sleep study doctor for a follow up, so he didn't have to get up as early, so I didn't wanna get up either...it's hard to make yourself get outta bed, when your sweet wonderful husband is still snoozing! So he got up in time to get ready to go to the doctor, and I got up in time to be late for work! Oh well...I'll make up the time, and all will be well... In case your wondering sleep study follow up determined he needed to keep the mask on longer (SHOCK!!!)...and needs to go to bed earlier (ok just add a few more hours in the day and we will!)...other than that he's fine...and he can tell a difference in how tired he was versus how tired he is now...so that's what's most important!

Ok - wasted enough time...back to work!

New Pony

bad pic of new pony...I forgot to set the resolution higher, and the phone is dying, so it'll have to do till I can charge the phone and take another one...

just chat today...

I didn't want to get up this morning...it was harder than usual to get outta bed! I think it was because I took headache medicine before I went to sleep last night, and the prescription one has a muscle relaxer in it, so I was zonked out! I made it to work only about 20 minutes late, so that's not too bad! It's FRIDAY though - woo hoo!

We're supposed to go out for a co-workers 30th birthday today, but I'm not gonna go with them. I have a lunch date with a friend here in town that was planned long before this birthday lunch was...hey...where's my birthday lunch?!? So what if he's turning 30...I turned 27...that's significant....means I'm still breathing, and able to come to work! Oh well... I'm not really jealous...it's just something to write about...

I found out yesterday about a possible job change...with a law firm here...one of my classmates is a parallegal, and her opinion is that they need a 3rd one, and she was going to go talk to the attorneys about it, and suggest me...I'm not gonna get my hopes up too high, but it sounds a little more promising than some of the other avenues I've pursued...I'd have to get a whole new wardrobe if I got that job though cause I'd go from Business Casual at work to Business Professional...She also said she'd get a bonus $500 if someone she recommended got hired, and said she'd split it with me...cool...I'll help her spend it!

A funny from class Wednesday night....I was noticing in my first class that my computer was running a little slow (not too bad, but just enough I noticed it)...so in my second class I decided to download software to check for spyware etc...did a search, and found some software to download (nothing mentioned of a price, so I was thinking it was one of the free ones like my nerdy friends usually find)...it downloaded, and I ran it...it found a few things...then in running it...to "remove" the problems it found...I had to buy the program for $29.99...I canceled out of it thinking, i can wait till I get home find out what the free one was that was put on the home puter, and download that one...message popped up...saying "we don't want you to go we'll give you a special rate of 1/3 off, so now pay only $19.99" (wording not exact, but price is)...I'm still thinking...nope can get free software...clicked cancel again...and another message popped up "pay $.99 and 7.99 shipping and we'll send you a disk to install"...me thinking if it's not free, I'm not interested...so I clicked cancel AGAIN....you guessed it AGAIN another message popped up...this one "we'll let you have it for free then"...I just busted out laughing...it was so funny...it cleaned off the spy ware, and then gave me a note that I can only run it once a month since it's free...but that's ok...I've got anti-virus, and have been online for 8 months and only had I think 4 programs that shouldn't be there...I'm thinking once a month is fine! That just cracked me up...if I'd given up and paid, I'd have never known that I could have this exact same software FREE! It was too funny...and I'm not sure if my computer nerd friends read this, but if they do then they can have a laugh too...

Oh, I got another My Little Pony last night this one's orange with pink hair and a pick...I'll post a picture of it later this afternoon when I can't stand to be at work, and need a slacker break...I felt like a 4 year old with my happy meals...each time I've gotten one I can't wait to see if I got a new pony or if it's a duplicate...and then been all happy that it's been a new one (I've got 4 now for those keeping count at home)...

Ok - back to work for now...

Simple minds....

I amuse myself...everyone knows I'm not a morning person...and in the morning when I'm getting ready, I have these moments when I just zone out...it's worse when my sweet wonderful husband has already left for work, and I'm home alone (when he's there, he talks to me so much, that I don't get much zoning time - he's a morning person)...this morning's zone out brought me back to high school days...a time I generally don't like to go back to...but this morning I got stuck on JROTC cadences...and Friday PT (exercise)...I think my brain is ready for me to find some time to get exercise in...I've been wanting to, but haven't been able to find the time in the day...I used to hate Friday PT, but this morning, I was remembering the end of my 2nd year after the seniors were gone, I was the highest ranking person in my platoon, and I got to call the exercises...I went through about 4 of the exercises before I snapped back to reality, and realized I had to finish getting ready! I don't know...I know most people weren't in ROTC, and probably don't care...but I found it rather amusing this morning!

Hey - at least I didn't start out the post with a comment on how tired I am...which I am by the way! At least it's the last school night of the week...last night was kinda funny...I didn't really wanna read for class...I was being lazy, and watching TV, and running the virus scan on my lap top, and all around avoiding homework...my sweet wonderful husband was worried about me (he said so)...he said I wsn't doing homework like I used to...then he got funny...he told me he was gonna call my brother on me...and my dad...and mom...I just found it funny like what are they gonna do, come beat me up?!? I'm old enough to know what I have to do, and when...granted part of it is that he has stuff that counts for grades all semester long...and the only grade I have is my final...and being the procrastinator that I am...I'm thinking I have plenty of time! Granted like usual I'll probably regret it around time for finals...

My co-workers are so funny...one of the guys in our group turns 30 Saturday, and they are making posters to put up...they had me go down there and come up with some funny rhyming phrases to fit the pictures his mom sent up here...(I came up with some cute ones for our directors b'day, so now I'm expected to come up with them at the drop of a hat)...I came up with one, and they are wanting another...so I'm having to think about that...one is him sitting on a barrel holding an apple, and the other picture we have to chose from is him at Kindergarten graduation with look on his face like he's thinking of trouble.../me *sitting like Pooh Bear tapping head mumbling "think....think....think"*

oh well...off to work for now...

brain teaser

Can you do it?

My Little Pony's

Ok - so ya don't have to wait...here they are...

1st pony - came with a basket of daisy's

2nd pony - came with a scruncci

new pony - came with a comb

zzzzzz........

I didn't wanna get up this morning...I think I start most of my posts this way...I think there's a trend forming...LOL...but it's true! We went to bed at a "reasonable" hour (for us)...it was like 11:30...but we both woke up exhausted this morning...if I'm going to wake up that tired in the morning, I might as well stay up and finish my homework! I think 11:10 will be nap time today, as usual!! The half caf coffee hasn't kicked in yet...guess I need to chug the rest of it, and go to the coffee pot and get the fully loaded stuff!

I got a new my little pony last night in my happy meal...it was a pinkish-purple one with a comb...her head looks bigger than the others...if I get bored later I'll post a picture of her...so keep coming back to check...all day long!! hehehe...

It's bad when I'm too sleepy to ramble...and I didn't ramble yesterday, so I should have lots to ramble about...

Oh...(yes it hurt)...just thought of something to talk about...lots of people up here are doing fund raisers for big brother/big sister...and I'm all about fund raisers...no problem...but the one today bothers me a little...we've all heard of youth groups doing the flamingos in peoples yards...well they are doing it with someone in a costume(I'm guessing - haven't seen him yet)...and to make him go away...ya gotta make a donation...I don't know...I don't really like that...we're here to work...I don't mind the bake sales...candy sales...trinket sales etc...then if I wanna participate...I can...but if I don't...I don't have too...I'm thinking if he gets sent to my cube today then I'll just let him hang out...not that I expect him here...there's only one person on my floor that I can think of that would do something like that to me, and I'm not 100% sure she's here today...

Ok - now I've rambled long enough...back to work for me...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well...got to go to Monroe this weekend...I'm glad I got to go, but it wasn't QUITE as wonderful of a trip, as I had hoped...I was sick all day Saturday! :-( But was feeling better by Sunday. I didn't get to spend near as much time with my grandmother as I'd hoped, but I did get to go to the wedding, and that was the main reason for going. We were all (my friends) supposed to go out Saturday night to Tokyo for Valentine's day and my birthday, but being sick ruined that...ya know being sick is supposed to be for days that you've gotta go to work, that way you at least get the day off for it, not on a weekend especially one you've got something planned. My friends were great though, the said we'd just go out another time, and all stayed in with me on Saturday. I'm a goofball and forgot my camera for the wedding, so I had to borrow a friends, and when she sends me the pictures, I'll post a few of them...We got in LATE last night, well actually early this morning...it was about 1ish when we got in...and with me having a "sick" weekend, I called in sick today...didn't wanna have a relapse, and was tiiiired, and need to get some homework done. I wanted to skip class tonight too, since it's my birthday, and I only have one class tonight, but my husband is making me go...he's making it out to be an ok thing since he has homework he's gotta get done, but I'm not convinced...I don't wanna go. It's my decision, and I'm pretty sure I'll go, but I don't wanna!

I hope all my friends have a wonderful Valentine's day! My sweet wonderful husband is taking me out to eat (at Tia's)...then forcing me to go to class...then promising we'll meet for coffee after class (trying to make it not so bad that I have to go to class on Valentine's day...)...but he loves me and that's all that matters!

I think it's funny...I have a friend that was making fun of me calling my husband "my sweet wonderful husband," and today her husband did something sweet for her for Valentine's day, and she used my phrase...hehehe...I'm a trend setter! LOL!

Well better go get some reading done since I'm gonna have to go to class tonight it's looking like, and then I should get a shower!

Later!

Monroe...here I come...after work...

The day has finally arrived! :-) I've looked forward to today all week! There are many promising things in store for today...the most definite one being that in less than 12 hours I'll be in the car heading south! woo hoo! I'm not sure if the pictured I mentioned earlier this week will get printed before we go...cause I'm thinking I'm gonna need a nap! I'm sleeeeeepy! My husband and I didn't wanna get outta bed...and it wasn't because we're newly weds...it was because we were wanting to SLEEP! We were both late to work...for me it's not that big a deal, so long as I make up the time, but he gets written up for it, and if he gets more than like 3 in a quarter then he risks getting fired...fortunately today is the first one this quarter! He's probably going to have to work late today, so I figure I should get a nap, so that I can drive the first part of the trip, until he gets off...We were hoping to get all packed last night...as usual...that didn't happen...I think it's funny...my friends in Monroe always plan to "pack up" the night before, and we do to...and I don't think any of us have ever accomplished that goal...something always comes up! The good thing is, we have done all the laundry we'll need for the weekend, so all we have to do is put it in the suit case...

The last 2 nights of class I've gotten a happy meal before class...wanted something small to eat for dinner...so now I have 2 "My Little Pony's" watching me work today(the purple, and the orange ones)...I put them on the top of my computer monitor...

I had thought about bringing them to the 6 year old I'll be seeing tonight, but I figured she's probably got all of them (her favorite food group is McDonald's), and I like My Little Pony's....they remind me of my childhood...I had 3 or 4 ponys and the magic pony waterfall (I forget it's official name...that was a LONG time ago!)...I think it's funny that all the toys from my childhood are coming back in...Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, My Little Pony...I loved all of those as a kid!

Ok - I've run outta things to say for now...granted I don't wanna work, so I'd rather ramble on here...but I've got nothing else to say...if I come up with something...I'll be back!

Later...

Thursday!

Thursday means that Friday is real close by...woohoo!! I like Friday, especially THIS Friday because it means I get to go to Monroe! Have ya noticed that I like Monroe?? hehehe

I was really happy when I went down stairs to get my breakfast...they actually HAD bacon...they've been out the last two or three days, and bacon is my favorite part of breakfast! So I got plenty of bacon and some eggs...yummy...and have coffee that my sweet wonderful husband made this morning...he's so good to me!

Yesterday was a little...depressing...I found out 3 people I know personally, and one that's related to someone I know are getting divorced...I know it happens all the time these days, but to find out about all of them in one day...and these are the first divorces I've heard of since I got married...so I have a view marriage with a different understanding now...anyway...it made me sad...and one of them has a small child (her daughter is 2), and in my family law class we've been discussing child custody, and discussing the effects divorce has on kids...*sigh*...I pray I never have to go through that...myself or with any of my close friends...I know we all have our minds set that divorce is not an option...but...I don't know...most people don't go into a marriage expecting it to fail...and with how much I love my husband, even when we fight...I don't understand how people can get to the point of divorce...I don't understand what happens to push it over to that side...

Ok - off the depressing topic...I can't wait till tomorrow...I usually try not to "wish for another day" because then you spend your life wishing your life away....but tomorrow has "many good things" to quote an old band director...hehehe...and I'm ready for them...granted I'm sure God has many good things for today, and I should spend today looking for those, but when you KNOW the next day does, it's hard!

Ok - enough for now - off to look for today's good things...

Ramblings

I don't have a whole lot to say today...I think it's because I'm so tired...it's hard to get my thoughts in order!

I have a lot to get done at work over the next few days...a lot for school too...and then it's off to MONROE!!! I'm excited...I'll get to see my grandmother, whose been really sick with cancer...and I'll get to see some of my close friends...and I'll get to go to my cousin's wedding...(I have a feeling I won't get the homework done that'll need to be finished for next week, but here's hoping!

I'm glad I'm getting to go to Monroe this weekend...it's the weekend before my birthday, and it's nice to get to spend it there! My sweet wonderful husband bought my birthday present last night! I know what it is, and he's not going to wrap it, but I haven't had time to "use" it yet...he got me a printer like I wanted...it scans...copies...prints...faxes...I can make photos...transparencies...and of course regular printed stuff...I can't wait to play with it...I'm hoping to get to print out a few pictures before we go to Monroe Friday...Last time some friends were up, we took some pictures of the 6 yr old at the Old Mill, and I was going to print out a few of them, and bring them to the parents (shhh...don't tell though...). hehe...

Yesterday I kept getting songs stuck in my head from weird places...like old commercial jingles...and songs from movies (Aladdin in particular - we bought it a couple weeks ago, and watched it, so that's why)...was kinda irritating myself...like when someone keeps humming a song that your tired of listening to...only it was my in my head, and I couldn't shut it off...I think the voices in my head are trying to make me go crazy! ;-)

Ok - maybe I had more to say than I realized...and this isn't getting all the work done that I need to...so I better quit for now...

Later!

Christmas Photo

me and my wonderful sweet husband at Christmas...just playing to see if I can get pictures on here...

Mardi Gras

I just realized yesterday that today is Mardi Gras...went to Hibernia's web site, and it said they would be closed to celebrate Mardi Gras...I bought the king cake for work last year, to get the fun started up here...my supervisor got the baby, and was supposed to bring the cake today...she's home sick today...maybe I'll go out at lunch and get one...I was looking forward to the king cake!...

Was up late last night working on an assignment that's due today...it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be...but we'll know for sure after I get the grade back! I'm soooo sleeeeeeepy this morning! We actually got up on time though, so that was good...but my eyes keep wanting to close...might just nap at lunch, and do without the king cake...

My sweet wonderful husband made the coffee this morning (like he usually does)...and it tastes REALLY good...need to remember to tell him...I've been complaining because it's been too weak lately...

Last night I realized that since my husband is on overtime...it'll be a little later than usual when we leave...unless they let him off at usual time since it's Friday...I'm doubting that though...it'll prolly be 6 when he gets off...then he'll have to get home, and then take a shower...I asked him last night to make sure he was ready to go Thursday night, so we wouldn't be on the road too late....granted we always intend to do that, and have only accomplished it once I think....

Ok - I think I've rambled on long enough for now...may add a little more later...

Nostalgia

For some reason this morning my brain has been stuck on things of the past...Like remembering the first time I met my close friends daughter, and her "bouncing" in our dining room with my brother...many "fireworks holidays" in the back yard with the piro's doing fireworks, and the ones where we didn't want to spend the money, being in the yard watching the neighbors burn hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks...Times with my college pastor, and his family...blowing up the Christmas trees on New Years...The births of the 2 year olds... (there's 3 of them!)...and meeting each of them for the first time...the Poem that was written when we all had to go separate ways...I so miss the times of the past...I know things must change for the making of new memories, but some of those memories are so sweet! I think I'm stuck in Nostalgic mode because of the severe illness of my grandmother...it hit me yesterday how sick she really is, and that she won't be with us much longer...which got me to thinking yesterday of the sweet times with her growing up...so today it's gone on to friends...I must say...I'm TRUELY blessed! And to make it even better...I'll get to see most of them this weekend...If I don't count today cause we're already in it, and I don't count Friday cause that's when we go...I go in THREE days! :-)

Shifting gears a little bit...I filled out a form for work to reimburse me for school, and found out that one of my grades had been bumped up! YAY! Fall Semester GPA was 2.64!

The Poem on my mind...
Friendship Blooms in the Morning
(A Family's Story)
By WirelessMike

Not so long ago,
In a city far away,
A friendship began
In the usual way.
Two men on a business trip,
The date is hard to remember.
I know it was between
January and December.
It was only one week,
And neither friend could know
How much their friendship
Was destined to grow.
God’s blessings are difficult
To understand in this life,
Often they come
Disguised as great strife.
One of these men
Had a life-changing event,
To the small town of the other
His family was sent.
It is said that the Lord works
In mysterious ways,
He is the sun behind the clouds
On our darkest days,
For dark it was,
At the start of that year,
The one man’s battle
With desperation and fear,
Few he knew
In this small, foreign city,
And fewer yet, his wife
So more’s the pity.
But rain falls at night,
So that following the gloom
One may find in the morning
That friendship will bloom.
-
For the man’s wife
Life was surely a trial.
All her friends she had left
Back many a mile.
Lonely at home
With only her little girl
For to keep her company
In a lonely world.
God’s will brought these strangers
Who entered her heart,
There to dwell as a family
With love from the start.
A sisterhood formed,
There is no stronger bond.
Depth and patience it has
Like a still sunlit pond.
When they are together
And wherever they roam,
Their voices, to each other
Give the comfort of home.
Finally she felt
She had someplace to belong,
Outside of that place
She had left behind long.
Laughter and games,
Movies and trips,
Tight hugs from strong arms,
Healing kisses from gentle lips.
Her daughter now
Had mothers three,
And no more caring mothers
Could any wish bring to be.
God’s guiding hand
Will separate them soon,
But they will find in the morning
Their friendship still bloom.
-
So it was with these men
Who were destined to find
Their families and friends
Hopelessly intertwined.
A man and his wife
And their little girl
Gained a brother and two sisters
To brighten their world.
The love and the joy
This new family shares
Cannot be described in poetry,
No matter what writer dares.
For a family they are,
Sharing more than just space,
They share meals and laughter,
They share life in God’s grace.
Their relationship keeps growing,
Mistaken for family, they could be
But perhaps that’s the way
God meant it to be.
And though they may move
Many miles away,
Nothing can change
How close they feel today.
Their lives still display,
For all to see,
The way God meant
A friendship to be.
The men love each other
As close as brother,
Their families now part
Of something larger than one another.
And though the night of their lives
Part their ways all too soon,
They will find in the morning
Their friendship still bloom.
-
The women of this story,
We must not forget,
For this tale hinges
Upon how well they are met.
A sister, a wife, a girlfriend and more
Would make up this extended family core.
Together they shared
Both good times and bad.
Sharing meals and stories
Sometimes happy, some sad.
But never alone,
Now, or ever again,
For no miles can segregate
The sisterhood of women.
Unafraid to cry or laugh out loud,
Whether behind closed doors or middle of crowd,
These women have become
Everything sisters can be,
Both to each other
And to the brothers you see.
No perfect world,
Sometimes disagree,
But rarely apart
As God meant them to be.
And more than willing
To stay together,
No matter their moods,
No matter the weather.
But God’s plan is more complicated,
And soon they would know
That the road ahead forks,
And thither each must go.
But this dark time coming
Must not be mistaken as doom,
For they will find in the morning
Their friendship still bloom.
-
The other man mentioned
Was destined for change.
The girlfriend in our family,
Her life with his to arrange.
Together long before
Our family grew.
They would be together even longer,
So both of them knew.
One special day
The friends agreed
To witness together
A most important deed.
A marriage was proposed
After years together
A change in the family
And a coming change in the weather.
For changes of such sort
Are permanent in kind,
And the ties of marriage
Tighter than friendship, bind.
The fork in their road
Began to appear,
And though it was in happiness
Still, each shed his tear.
For a family they are,
And a family they remain.
But the change is inevitable,
Like the smell of rain.
Still in love and friendship,
The family agreed
To see each other happy,
And to witness the deed.
But let not a dark shadow
Over this family loom,
For they will find in the morning
The friendship still bloom.
-
One last melancholy tale
Still must unfold,
The sister’s story
Has yet to be told.
To face an uncertain future
Is a difficult report.
Only such a family as this
Could provide her support.
She saw the fork in the road
At first, very bleak.
It would not improve
For many a week.
The family, they prayed,
They gave her such love
As could only be provided
From the Lord, above.
The brother and his wife,
Their life together begun.
The sister first seeing change
Like a setting sun.
Whether they like it or not,
The family will break her heart.
For she put a piece of it in each of them
And she feels each piece, no matter how far apart.
So it is with all of them,
Their hearts in pieces shared
How else could it be,
Given how for each other they cared?
Even the daughter,
As young as she be,
Bears the burden of heartbreak.
She loves her family.
But the family will be together again.
Perhaps in this life, perhaps not so soon
And they will find that forever, in each morning
Their family still bloom.

Sunday

It's weird today, the weather started out nice...almost warm...then it got all rainy and cold...blah!

We went to Tia's for lunch today - it was YUMMY! But then again, Tia's is always yummy...hehe...we were supposed to meet one of my classmates there, but she didn't answer when I called her, so we went just the 2 of us. Tasted the same though...heheh...Then we went to Wally for the weekly trip...had a few things we needed. Actually did better than we usually do, and this time pretty much stuck to the list!

My husband got got a camera phone today...hehe...his friend got one just like mine, and that was too much for him, he wanted one too...so that's his Valentine's day present. He's happy, and that's what's important! I've told him that I want a build-a-bear for Valentine's day, and a printer for my birthday (also on Valentine's day for anyone who doesn't know)...I'm wanting a printer for my computer that'll print pictures on photo paper, so I can print out some of my digital pictures that I've taken. Besides, the printer we have is REALLY sad...it's slow....and OLD! It was given to me by a good friend's boyfriend (at the time, they aren't together anymore). For the price I won't complain, but I really want one that'll print pictures...I think that's what he's gonna get me, cause I think he thinks it'll be cool too (that was a lot of "think"ing in that sentence). heheh...The other possibility I told him was I wanted a "Chi" to straighten my hair, but I doubt I'll get that because he'd have to go into a beauty supply store all alone, and he doesn't like that idea...(he doesn't want to go to Build-a-bear and make the bear for me, he wants me to do it, so I know a beauty supply store wouldn't happen!!!)

NEXT WEEK THIS TIME I"LL BE IN MONROE!!! Woo hooo!!!! My cousin is getting married...we'll probably be working towards leaving at this time next week, so it won't be TOOO late when we get home, but we'll be IN Monroe, and that's what's important...

Well It's getting close to time to go to church this evening...so I better go get ready...my nephew (B) is singing tonight with the pre-school choir, so we don't want to miss that!

Happy Birthday!!!

It's my brother's 28th birthday today....HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BRO!!! I had thought about calling him at midnight my time (1 AM his time) to wish him a happy birthday...it just sounded like something he'd do for me if the roles (and time zones) were reversed. I didn't get to though...my husband and I got into a movie, and it didn't end till 1AM my time, and I figured that would just be mean!

We watched "The Others"...it's a good movie...it's been out for a while (it was on the Wal-Mart $5.50 rack to give a reference). It had a LOT of Catholic influences, but it was good...kinda strange, but in a good way I think...My husband liked it, but thought the weird parts were too weird to him. I thought they were creative...I like movies that are "different" So many movies have been done, and redone, and redone again...it's silly! My brother should like the fact that I was watching that movie, because it meant I didn't bother him...oh well...I'll call him in a few minutes...

Today we watched Darby O'Gill and the Little People. It's cute...I hadn't seen it before (or heard of it), but my husband had...it's Disney...and he's seen most all the OLD Disney shows...he had the Disney chanel as a kid...we had the basic 4 chanels, and if the President was on, the night was shot.

We are about to go over to a friends house, and grill hambergers...we haven't done anything with them in a while, and we've missed hanging out with them...(A&M for those who know them). We're supposed to be there at 5, and it's a 30 minute drive out there, and we've gotta stop to get the hamburger meat (and it's 430ish now), so I think we'll be late...but that's ok...it's not like it's a plan set in stone...

Needless to say - I got VERY little homework done...I should be able to finish what I have to do for Monday tomorrow, but I was hoping to get more done, since I'm going to MONROE next weekend (starting to get a little more excited now!!!).

Well I need to get my shoes on so we can go....

Gripe Session

I'm starting to get a little irritated with Kay's Jewelry store...that's who we got my wedding ring set from...we paid for their little service agreement (it was like $80 extra)...where you have to get the stone inspected every 6 months, and they'll replace it should anything happen to it...after we got married, I had my rings soldered together, and asked them to do the inspection then (it had been 6 months)...they told me they did...but they didn't bother to update their computer, so they think I'm lying when I said it was inspected in July...and of course there's a problem with one of the stones...one of the bagetts is chipped(granted it's a diamond, so it shouldn't be chipped)...from when I say it was inspected last, I was 2 weeks late getting it inspected when I had the problem...so now they don't know if they'll cover it under the service agreement that we paid for... While I'm a stickler for rules and such, and I know the 2 weeks is my fault, it irritates me that they are acting like I'm a liar, and haven't ever had it inspected. We've bought all our jewelry from them (my husband's ring and my Tanzanite ring), since we got engaged, because they've been so good to us...now I'm ready to go somewhere else, for everything...Another problem...my husband lost his wedding ring when we were in NYC (which we got from there)...I had thought about replacing it for him for Valentine's day...which I know is in 10 days, so I couldn't get it engraved again, but I could at least have it for him by then...Now I've got to see if somewhere else has the same type ring cause I don't know that I want to spend another $100ish there...it's more of a hassle that I don't want!

Ok - I'm through griping for now...I feel better...I think I might like blogging afterall...granted I don't know who'll wanna come read my ranting... WOW - now my husband won't HAVE to listen to me gripe. He can read it if he wants after I've cooled down, or he can not read it if he doesn't want to...I still get to vent, and he doesn't have to listen...cool!

It's kinda funny - that first "paragraph" was one LONG run on sentence just about...oh well...it's MY little spot, I don't have to watch grammar (much)...And I don't think in "real sentences"...it's more of a stream of consciousness...

Ok - I feel better...back to work for now...

*yawn*

Mornin...It's Friday...YAY!!! I had the toughest time getting outta bed this mornin! Then on the way to work, traffic was HORRIBLE (took me 45 minutes to get to work, and it's not that far!)...focusing on the fact that it's Friday though! My sweet wonderful husband usually makes coffee in the morning, but this morning we were both running late, so I had to wait till I got to work to get some. At the Kiosk down stairs, they have Starbucks!!! I'm enjoying my Caramel Machiato right now....YUMMMM...and of course...It's FRIDAY!!!!

My sweet wonderful husband and I are planning to go out to eat tonight...I think I want Grandpa's...it's a Catfish place, that we went to for the first time for his work Christmas party, and it was quite yummy! Then tomorrow...study...what fun...I've got quite a bit to do, as I'm a little behind in my reading, and I need to get ahead because next weekend I'll probably not get much reading done....goin to MONROE!! woo hoo! Ok, can't quite as excited about that as the fact that it's FRIDAY - Woo hoo. I love going to Monroe, but it's a WHOLE week away, so by next Thursday I won't be able to stand it, but for now, only a little excitement! I miss my peoples, it's been too long!

Ok - I guess I better get to work, with bad traffic, I was late getting here, and then I went to get coffee, and now I'm writing this...probably should get on to work related stuff now...afterall they ARE paying me for it...

First Post

I've read so many of my friends blogs, and even read a few strangers blogs that I've been referred to, so now I start my own.

We'll see how long I keep up with this. If it's easy, I'll probably do a lot, in all my free time. LOL!

This might be a good way to keep up with what's going on in my life...hmm...we'll see...

But I don't need to be doing this at work...especially during close...so I'd better quit for now...

More later...
